petermc Don't get me wrong, I agree with you completely. I'm just trying to put some context behind why so many studios may still focus near-exclusively on the more vanilla style content. My assumption why, anyway.
And I like to think SLR is already expanding into more non-vanilla and non-standard content, and has been for some time. Gloryholes, ganbangs and reverse gangbangs, a bukkakke scene, etc. @vrfanservice's shoots especially have been pushing many of the "mainstream" boundaries in a great way.
petermc The problem is that, if all the big studios just keep making stuff to suit one particular set of porn fans, that’s all they’re going to attract and VR stays as this niche within the industry.
This is where VR is in a unique position though. When it comes to 2d porn you're right, content trumps all and will bring the subscribers. The market is saturated and that's pretty much all there is to it.
In VR it's certainly about the content and it bringing in subscribers, but it's ALSO about the fact that 95%+ of porn viewers don't even have a concept of what VR porn is and are not engaged in the VR market. And as more of those 95% of porn viewers learn about VR and start checking it out (for example the Quest 2 helped with this in a huge way), then we'll be in a position where more niche studios are able to survive and be profitable because the user base is large enough that the demand for their niche content can sustain them.
tl;dr - more content for every niche under the sun is also my dream, so tell all your friends about VR porn 😁
