  • How do you view your library?

With DLNA being taken away from us, what is the best way to view your existing library? Any post I make in regards to DLNA being pulled gets locked so hoping admins will allow this to stick because its ridiculous that we can't even communicate with one another one new methods of viewing content we paid for. Seems counterintuitive to the growth of the community as a whole. We need to have transparency and help one another continue doing what we love. Enjoying VR Porn.
I have a massive library of all sites that I've built over the years on a massive hard drive. I originally was streaming via plex to deovr with DLNA and was able to view and enjoy any scene from any site at any time. Now I cant...I have a quest 2 and do not want to have to stream from my quest for every video I want to watch. You can't get 6k-8k videos to stream with consistent quality without studders or image quality buffering. This also uses too much battery and I am lucky to get an hour out of my quest 2 this way. I love having the highest quality downloaded and played locally so I get the quality and no buffering and less battery power used. Just makes for a 100x more immersive experience imo. So does anyone know of a way to do this still? Or is it just gone for good? I will not be paying a subscription fee just for an app to view content that I also pay a subscription fee for.

I haven't updated DeoVR yet. If I am ever unable to continue using my outdated version. I'll probably try Skybox VR Video Player or Pigasus VR Media Player or something similar or I might have to make something of my own whatever is necessary I guess. I'm hoping that the new headsets from meta will have a 10 terabyte option via expandable memory so that we can do away with this headache I honestly hate running a private server just to view a few files it's anoying but streaming is not an option for me.

If anyone here has tried Skybox and if it's a good player then I'd suggest you request of them to add support for 200° you can contact them via email here. contact@skybox.xyz

Pigasus works quite well for DLNA, Heresphere looks promising, but it's in early development. Also technically you can still play local files with DEO if you connect to pc with cable or airlink

Does that work without shutter or lag for you if yes what kind of specs does your PC have? I don't have a PC right now and I'm thinking about getting one in the future and would like this feature to work well. I know on the Oculus forum they were saying it was working for 8k viewing from a 3070 but the thing is they all had that same type so wondering if anything lower works or only the 3070 cards.

GetReal Already a 1070GTX works for smooth viewing 8k h265 content. The downside is when Deo is running on the PC the link compresses the image and the picture is not anymore as crisp as with Deo running native on the Quest 2.
