  • Go Streaming, NOT DLNA or XBVR

spacepirate No problem with that.

It's just something we don't want to be a part of. Downloads are not going anywhere, yet we should not facilitate any active promotion of those tools

Stockpiling a ton of data you never won't be able to use even 1 of a 1,000 is a total disgrace. I never came back to hundreds of videos I downloaded at a time because there was always a ton of new stuff out there.

ok so you dont like dlna for some business reason and not because its a terrible experience (with many happy users)

i can understand you not wanting third party things like xbvr to be promoted here but why dlna? its a feature of your app

spacepirate LOL you just try to put things the way you want it with creating facts on the ground.

whatever. with such attitude I have zero desire to discuss anything with you.

doublevr So, sorry, but it's a lot of nonsense.
On another thread, it seems to me that it's you yourself who says that streaming is the big part of your site and that the number of people who download are in the minority.
DLNA is going to disappear, you refuse to introduce XMB and now you censor any way to enjoy downloading which, I remind you, is a minority according to you.
        You're going far here.

doublevr I have a Quest2 head set,70Mbps average broadband speed (repeatedly confirmed by speed tests) but always get stuttering when streaming.I have spent a fair amount of money to buy a life time premium subscription last October. Can you suggest a practical solution for members like me?

          mgbgt35 I’ll beat you… I have 500/500 with a Quest 2.

As convenient streaming might be, downloading is higher quality. At least I think so.

And what if your internet goes down? Boom, plug in your headset to your computer and pick 1-2 of your favorite videos.

doublevr the 100mbps plus "original" quality download with constant bit rate is always higher quality than the 20-30mbps variable bit rate stream...

doublevr Downloads are not going anywhere

Well I’ve argued before why DLNA or similar protocols are important to a great number of customers, so I won’t do it again here. I’m relieved to know you aren’t removing option to download. I actually enjoy collecting content (including plenty of 2D) — it’s just comforting to know it’s always there. When my Internet slows to a crawl or goes out completely (unfortunately it happens a lot, see next post) it’s good that there are other video players that still support local streaming via DLNA from my Synology NAS. I did like using DEO for both Internet and local streaming, but it seems I’ll now have to switch when I wish to enjoy something from my own library. 1st-world problems though; not worth getting upset about it. I’ll spend my energy looking forward to first USA harem scene 😛

argyle43 so in fact, just 90 mins ago my Internet went down as I was trying to stream the new Kiara scene 🥰 wow what a gorgeous woman. Streaming kept freezing. So my mind, as it often does, returned to the upcoming harems that were shot a couple days ago, and I remembered reading in another forum that one of the other players is finally supporting 200deg FOV. So I loaded that up and watched my downloaded copy of the first SLRO harem scene over DLNA. This other player didn’t render it quite as perfectly as DEO would have, but it was definitely close enough to still reach a volcanic release underneath Jenny Wild and surrounded by all those naked beauties.

I'm probably the only one who've ask for this a while back here and other site, but I'd be good with a cheaper monthly for just streaming only...cuz DAMN I can get trigger happy on sum downloads. 😮

And then I run out of space, and I hate going threw my files to find videos to delete, and I dont wanna keep buying tb of hard drives, it's to much.

My first time on slro was when they gave a month out streaming only for free cuz of covid, hell I felt I was on Netflix or sumn, my stream was playing great, still does 👍🥂

If I could get that for half the price! I'd be fine with that

              But thats just me. Imo

handling all the downloaded crap gets to be too much of a pain in the ass

never thought the need to download anything from the site...as long as quality was pretty close

once the purge started happening of our FAV's it changed.

still not really download happy, and the download would have to be a GO-TO type clip...not a once used type thing

these things are frigging space eaters...a few over 25gigs, that will never see my headset

doublevr I use XBVR a lot due to having scripts and/or videos that are not on SLR.

Think if we could get some level of functionality in the SLR App that provides a similar solution then I wouldn't need to use XBVR.

                3 months later

My isp will throttle my internet speed after too much streaming (of anything) and there is no viable alternative in my area. My pc can't handle pc-vr video so DLNA it is.

Steaming is more convenient even if quality is slightly less. If I had infinite storage space maybe different story. I like bouncing around to random new things.

Downloading will get me throttled faster so not really a happy backup, but is nice to save those winners.

                a year later

mnmlikereal super old reply but would you be able to elaborate further on how you got this to work to stream SLR videos please? I have one of those old ravpower file hubs and it never occurred to me that I could use it for that purpose instead of collecting dust in a drawer. Any additional info will be greatly appreciated.
