Regarding sex work, Oliver states:
"that is actually legal because of the presence of the camera, making it an art film, otherwise known as porn, and that's legally covered as part of free speech. So basically consensual sex for money on camera is legal porn, and consensual sex for money off camera is illegal sex work."
Where are the innovators? Why isn't SexForReal.com hopping on this opportunity? ๐
Wondering if there is some ulterior motive to this post. If so, I actually thought about this last year. If I could make a steady income from the markets and become incrementally richer every year, I could start two businesses that could help make the world a better place: one is paying people to meditate, and the other is paying people to have sex in a wholistic way; ideally combining the two. This and the ideas that follow are my arm-chair thoughts of creating a world I would want to live in, which would help me and thousands of others, snowballing into more positive effects through spiritual and physical needs being met. Btw, I finally quit trading, so it's a no-go, not that I would actually have the audacity to go through with it, but someone else or some other group of people may.
How about a US-based CEO create a Business Model? It's no secret the big-guys at the top of the chain are using loopholes to evade taxes, why not a coalition of little-guys at the bottom starting businesses that provocatively use sex-work loopholes to evade illegal activity, crediting the tune of the quotes above? That's how I see the medical marijuana industry and states where marijuana is legal for recreational use, as research and pilot phases. We could do the same; we just need to have good reasons and positive results enough to be tolerated, and eventually given the green light for legalization. At the very least, greater awareness is raised. Imagine if after a few years under the radar that laws change to cancel this movement of profiting sex businesses and happy workers and co(customer)-workers; people in mass losing their sex-based jobs would be a greater force to reckon with.
Oliver talked about FOSTA or a law "banning online ads that sold people into slavery ... (that includes) all paid sex whether or not trafficking was involved." Well what if we change the view that (not "sex") but "adult" businesses are posting job ads for local "Human Fulfilment Centers." This view is not as he says, "the exchange of sex for money or goods," which makes sex work illegal. Money is only involved to pay employees as any other business would, and no goods are being traded, just a mutual exchange of love and energy in a supportive environment, with benefits as any other job. However, alluding to my initial comment on this thread, more sexual freedom given to society blanketly would be chaotic, but given through slow systematic employment opportunities, could be game-changing. Of course there are grim aspects to think about, but counter-arguments could be made just the same.
Yup, I'm part of this repressed culture. But like the JAV industry hitting VR right in ways not thought of because of their censorship, we too have potential to approach things that matter, like sex, in ways not thought of because of our censorship of sexuality. The current ways are sometimes mediocre or violent expressions, but we have yet to explore benevolent expressions to augment those who are already doing it good. We live in a time where we can make a difference now. Platforms, connections, and cash flows are just around the corner to get us the right supporters and sponsors: reddit subs with rich people who don't know what to spend their money on, wealthy sex work advocates, a plethora of porn-studios with already established models, access to already paying members who would shell out additional cash to support a patreon page with sex-reality goals, people in the neighborhood, paid cuddle-buddies looking for better jobs, the unemployed, underpaid, etc.
Without further ado, here's where a hopeful idea all goes down hill, a sample employment ad:
