'zoom' function

There are many comments that you can zoom in or zoom out to adjust angle. Could someone post some pictures to show the effect it brings? My system does not support that funtion .If it works well l will buy a new headset 😄 l see many professionals here please help me

Zoom is independent of the system and a function of the video player, and basically any video player I know has a zoom function.

It is also pretty pointless to show something in a screenshot for VR, you have to actually see it in VR.

sheldoncooper zooming in and out doesn’t really change the angle, just how close you are to the action. Like others have said, it’s ok in moderation but zoom out too far and it gets distorted with people getting pointy faces.

There is a tilt function which changes the angle somewhat. Allows you to look up and down without moving your head. So, if you have the girl in cowgirl you can watch the penetration and then tilt the view up if you want to see the girl’s face rather than having to move your head around. Tilt is incredibly useful for me and I use it constantly in the scene. It’s a function of the video player though rather than the headset I would’ve thought.

Zoom is pretty much possible with every good VR player like DeoVR or HeresphereVR. It's pretty straight forward, like you'd expect it, like using the zoom function on a video camera or binoculars.

The problem is that more extensive zooming creates serious distortion because the angles at the edges don't fit the picture that well anymore. So it's always a trade off. A little bit of zooming can help in scenes in which you don't like the original distance but it can't fix everything.

And it's indeed very hard to show 2D screenshots for that.

What are you using?

If your using the deo cardboard app you can set the zoom where you like it so you won't have to zoom out in every scene u watch...

In deo app I have my zoom set at -8 by default

What you do is, click on the zoom when a video is playing on the player, click on the negative to where you want it then open the camera settings and down at the bottom it will say "set as default"

But yeah. If you're cardboarding upgrading to a quest 2 would be a big upgrade for you 😉

I tried to map the tilt function to my Quest 2 controller the other day, I successfully mapped it to my side finger trigger but obviously this is a button so it doesn't move two ways like the thumb stick so when I press it the scene only tilts one way, I could not see a way to tilt it in the other direction. The only other way I could think of was mapping it to the thumb stick but that it already used for zoom in / zoom out. Can anybody help me on how to tilt both ways with any other button rather than the thumb stick, im sure im missing something really obvious but just couldn't work it out! Thanks

xxxscottyxxx When you are mapping it, hold down the 'side finger' (grip) and while holding it down use the thumbstick up/ down or left/right, as you wish, to combine them.
