  • Anyone into NFT's and blockchain?

I can totally understand people rolling their eyes or being skeptical of the current state of NFT's. There's plenty of examples of them being used & abused, and 9/10 times when I read an article about them I do the same...especially whenever there's goddamn monkey/ape art involved...

But I also think it's a mistake to dismiss them entirely. Considering what a significant portion of our daily lives is already spent in one digital form or another (internet, programming, work applications, VR, etc. etc. etc.), it makes sense that at some point we will need ways to concretely prove ownership of digital/virtual items and non-tangible "things".

IRL you buy a car, you get a pink slip. You buy a home, you get a deed.

At some point there will need to be a more solid digital version of this proof of ownership for non-physical/digital goods, whether it's NFT's/blockchain or some other technology that is in its infancy or hasn't even been developed yet.

Some really good points here. I guess the only option is to look for people to breathe life into it.
The people who believe in it should be the ones implementing it. I will just let things happen

Feel free to get in touch.

The benefits of NFTs and the blockchain exist but they are very few and far between.

I feel like people are willing to hear out ideas but be prepared to dump ideas or abandon the whole thing if the people say.

HI guys, i'm new here 😃
took me some time to land.

I'd like to share my thoughts with you, and i hope, that's ok.

Traditionally as a creative, art director, designer and artist, (who has been intensively studying NFTs for past year or a bit more) I can see some potential in the NFTs in combination with metaverse, that could be good long term. The blockchain technology is not exactly steam machine, but let's say in the "ford T" era if we compare it to mobility manufacturing evolution, and so is the XR. As i have read multiple times in this chat, you are very much aware that the field is still risky, and i understand your concerns about it... But i try to be optimistic. It's all about consensus anyway, it's a community, that's building systems for ourselves, not aliens,.... If someone builds wisely and securely on the foundations of responsibility, then he can't miss. I guess.

Not just that, I can see similar demographic pattern in users, creators and developers on both sides, and i see SLR as excelent player that could potentially be a leader of a new move, maybe a little revolution... Especially now, when the hype in NFTs and crypto has gone down, and we see the flaws and misuses more clearly, it could be just the right time to start studying and trying useful applications of blockchain for something else than screwing people over their speculation.

NFTs are all about digital ownership (at least trying to get there). But, I see usecases elsewhere... Not as a proprietary right to some part of a video or a digital asset that can be traded. Instead in giving roles, access, traction, and other powers to the users and creators. If you could build a system that was giving us identity, space and our digital "superpowers" accross the ecosystems, devices and services, it'd be wise to do it with blockchain in my opinion. Because it's transparent and irreversible, if something bad happens, everybody knows it, and can be potentially fixed... I already use my name domain (which is a website link, wallet and an NFT all in one) for different ecosystems- mostly NFT related, but it works for now. And in the future i'll let myself be surprised. I'm also a a healthy sceptic, don't get me wrong here,..

With some careful steps, a lot could be achieved.
Under the condition, that the community is capable of using the system, and that it'd work, if not, then it really wouldn't make any sense. 😃

tino so how exactly do we use it on SLR? what's the usecase?

Why don’t we start selling NFTs on SLR?

Users can buy a sub like it is now or NFT. If they buy NFT they can enjoy all the features of smart contracts that we implement

doublevr As long as producer make more outstanding productions. that's will be very promising,l will buy it..

      blaze466 still exploring

Really curious. Right now users are buying $30 subs and all are accessing the same 20,000 videos whenever they want throughout the month.

Or should be unique proposition? What producers and performers can get from NFTs if someone watches their channel?

What's the advantage of buying SLR NFT than a regular sub? Is it just making easier life for crypto users?

What features can we implement for people with NFTs?

Please share all the cool NFT and blockchain implementations

basically what NFT economy enables us to do what fiat economy doesn’t?

doublevr basically what NFT economy enables us to do what fiat economy doesn’t?

very easy answer... nothing. it's more expensive than fiat too because of the fees.

Not totally true, if you look at Etherium blockchain, this is true, but there are many blockchains in function that have smart contracts and NFTs.
Maybe check this list of NFTable blockchains and markets to see more:

There is, the assets are programmable. It's a different kind of market with different dynamics and different kind of investors and consumers. Sure the services should not be divided, they have to be inclusive...

          Like this. unstoppabledomains.com/
You can buy a domain with fiat or crypto, and you get a lifetime domain name, which you can also mint in NFT, and use as crypto wallet address. On layer 2 network, with very cheap gas fees. You can also transfer it very easily, or sell it on opensea or on the main site... I think it's a very versatile democratic example of how fiat and crypto can coexist in the same product.

And also you can't decide on how the image on your dollar looks like 😉
Artists, illustrators and designers are crazy about getting their work on postage stamps,..... The concept is quite similar sincerely. Just, NFTs are so much more accessible for wider creators public and can be linked to different media files, also interactive. I think it's a great tool that was unfortunately abused by human greed in many cases.
