catflap I realised when I was writing it that some might prefer that- there have been a couple if times I've done the same tbh. Might be interesting to see if there's a difference in viewing habits there or not. I'd suspect established stars might get more unique viewers while girls who don't do hardcore would have more people watching the entire scene.
Starting a new VR studio
New VR studios and are always welcome in business!
But I recommend to invest in your VR camera set! Get the best cam what You can get!
There are many new studios seen also here in SLR, which have pretty good pornstars and content would be good...
But they have really really really crappy cameras... which makes it incomparably bad.
If there is bad opticts or scale (or dirty lenses, like some studios have repeatedly) it is total waste of effort.
I have already learned to jump over the content of certain studios because of that.
I really wish good luck for Your production!

blaze466 Oh ok gotcha. I've done some photoshoots similar to that. Focus on the shape, curves and lighting on the body. That could be hard to shoot in VR since there is such a large viewing angle. But def want to get more into on the photography side. Maybe I'll do a 180 BTS shoot for it. I have this shot where my camera is place right below a girls belly button. And you see the line leading up to her chest. Gave me the idea for the name of Twin Peaks Studios. Or Twin Peaks VR for my company name. But I'm not sure yet I like it. I did reserve the website www.twinpeaksvr.com though just in case ha.
Once I get going and start making money. I'm def open to explore stuff like that. Right now, if the shots don't come out right. Then its wasted time and content I could be getting. I love the idea though.

I am still new to the VR experience from a customer's standpoint, and although I enjoy what it brings to the table, I think that with your experience in still photography, you can make a HUGE difference. Here is why:
The problem with video in general is that it is impossible to properly ogle a girl. With a set of stills, you can focus on a particular photo and just stare at it, letting your fantasies play out in whatever time it takes. When a still set is created properly, there is a real sense of planning involved. Playboy and Penthouse did this, but in my view, the best was J. Stephen Hicks from Digital Desire, whom I have commented on in my posting in this forum under the title "Dripping Pussies." A lot of eroticism is wrapped up, say, just in a photo of a covered girl's pussy, where the mound of a hanging labia pushes out a sheer panty, or uncovered, as she stands with her legs slightly apart, and through the gap of her upper thigh, you see extended inner labia lips hanging down, silhouetted against a light background behind her. These types of photos are pretty intense, and you know already the many, many ways that a model's best assets can be presented in a still photo. But those carefully framed shots are so often totally lost in videos -- whether 2D or 3D. Even if they appear, they are lost in the continual movement of the action taking place.
What I have been trying to get at in my little suggestions on this site is the idea of using a very different approach to filming. Instead of being in a rush to get the girl nude and get a dick in her, what I am suggesting is first think about those many type of still photos that are particularly erotic before filming starts. Plan how the model needs to be in those positions, and then spend a portion of the film slowly -- and I mean REALLY SLOWLY -- caressing the camera across her body, letting the mind soak in the erotic view. And especially -- and I cannot emphasize this enough -- work hard on getting in very close as girl's private parts are SLOWLY exposed.
When you say that you want to do solo, these ideas can be particularly effective, IMHO. There are certainly "striptease" videos here, and there are certainly sequences where the camera caresses the model enabling that ogling, but too often not enough, and too often, not enough close-ups. Again, the essence here is to sear sexual images of poses into the viewer's mind and give him the time to properly fantasize as he looks upward as a girl SLOWLY lowers herself onto his face, where she is mostly just staying still a few inches above his face, letting him take in the view of each fold of her pussy. Yes, there are videos that include such things, and IMHO, those scenes are the most memorable.
You mentioned that you weren't familiar with InTheCrack. Well, I should point out that they seem to have the right idea about ogling a girl, particularly her pussy and ass -- a point they emphasize on their philosophy page on their website. (I only wish they had a higher percentage of pretty girls, but I wish that all the time about all the sites.) And they will also often have the girl do a lot of gaping, which to my surprise, seems to be seriously lacking in the VR scenes I have come across so far. I realize that many might not like deep gaping, but with the way that SLR here has bookmarks in their videos, that can be skipped for those that don't like it. I personally found that it was "an acquired taste" which I learned to enjoy when done right. Now I find that I really dig seeing a girl's urethra and especially the inner ridges of her vaginal walls. And of course, those hidden gems of cum found throughout her hole, whether inside or dripping out. It is one thing to watch a girl stick her fingers into herself. It is a whole other thing to explore what awaits a guy's dick when he is in her. And that comes with good gaping -- meaning close-in camera work, with careful focus and good lighting, where the pussy just seems to come alive. Forget the speculum here. Just a girl's fingers pulling herself wide to let the camera in is more than sufficient.
I could go on and on here in detailed descriptions of the types of shots I am talking about, whether you are a gaping fan or not. You mentioned that you are favorable to pissing sequences. I am one who simply likes to see a girl piss on the ground or clear punch bowl rather than another person. And again, for me, the idea is to get in close. In my view, any time a girl squats with her legs apart in pissing position, it practically demands a piss to follow. But the best is to get in close and see it come out of her piss hole, You as an experienced erotic photographer should know what I am getting at in all of what I say here. The keyword here is ogle. That is the essence of what is missing in both 2D and 3D videos: the idea of focusing more on the pose and its framing rather than just the action. The ability to provide camera work that enables sufficient ogling can raise VR scenes to a new standard in sexuality. It is much more difficult to do because it means more than just getting the technical parts right -- which in VR is especially hard from what I understand. But it moves it into the realm of what J. Stephen Hicks was doing: and that was artistry
Whether you take my ideas into account or not, I wish you the best. And maybe you can be the one to take erotic VR to a new level.
ADDENDUM: After posting this, I noticed that you had responded to Blaze466 where it appears that he was saying much the same as what I am saying and that you appeared to agree. Sorry about that. But I'll just leave this comment here anyway in the hopes that some other director/photographer might pick up the idea if he didn't quite get what Blaze466 was saying.
masterblaster I'll be honest, I got home at 2:30am and I'm ready for bed. But I did read most of that. Not to give away too much. Because 1. I don't like posting ideas online. And 2. Not 100% sure I can delivery. Movement with a VR camera has to be perfect. But I do have a good gimbal I can try.
But as a photographer, I did dabble in some video also. I love creating and making cinematic films. And I want to bring that passion to my VR films. So for some of my solos, I will do just that. As an example. The one idea I am working on starts with a girl laying in bed sleeping in her bra and panties. The camera is going to start on her toes/feet. And I'm going to slowly pan up body. Getting in close as I can without killing focus Once I reach her face, I'm going to pull back on the camera. Her alarm is going to go off. As she stretches out out her morning muscles. I'm going to focus in on her body. The muscles in her back, her butt, her breast. Then I'm going to have her walk towards the bathroom. I'm going to start the camera at ground level and slow move fowards as I pan up to her butt. Then I'll put maybe the camera on a tripod as she walks into frame inside the bathroom, she'll drop her panties and takes her morning piss. Once she is done I'll have her stand up as the little piss left drips on her pussy. The next scene would be in the kitchen. I'll focus on her ass as she bends over in the fridge to get the eggs out. I'll focus on her hands as she makes the morning coffee. I'll do a camera follow as she walks to the next area we shoot. And it will end with her finger blasting herself.
I also have a similar idea with a morning work out. I'll follow the girl as she puts on her sexy yoga pants and sports bra. Makes her morning shake. As she puts the keys in and starts the car. As she stretches in the park. If its private enough, I'll have her take a piss behind a tree/bush. Then maybe have her get herself off in the front seat of the car. Maybe the back. Not sure. This will probably won't be until later. To start I'm trying to book as much content as possible. And this scene make take some take. So inside of a 2-3 hour booking, I might have to book her for 4-5 since we'd have to drive somewhere and shoot in public.
Just a couple ideas. I have like a billion in my head.

Sounds great! Nice ideas there and it really does seem like you got what blaze466 and I were saying. And I am glad that even with a solo, you make sure to have the girl masturbate. I just don't understand these striptease videos where the girl just takes it off and nothing more.
You are facing so many challenges ahead. I know that one of the hardest things is just to find a pretty girl that is willing to do VR, is good enough at it, and can meet your budget and scheduling. And then you still have to work through all the setup and other technical issues. If you can pull that all off, you deserve every penny you make from the endeavor!
What a great thread. I agree with previous posters about use of motion. Slow and thoughtful motion that accentuates a woman’s body can be very erotic. I think Stasyq and Stripz do a generally good job of this. I also love InTheCrack’s walking videos. Being able to see a woman’s whole body in motion is quite sexy. Another thought, the choice of model is just as important as the photographer’s technique. This may be obvious, but I wanted to bring it up because of the last post about striptease alone. There are going to be some models who will only do nude and if they’re hot enough, by all means book them for just striptease. There are fans at every level of the porn spectrum, from tasteful nudes to gangbangs. Lastly, I fully support your idea of going to Eastern Europe - there seems to be amazing talent out there.
Good luck!

masterblaster I have a couple agencies I plan on working with. We've for the most part worked out pricing and whatnot. Now its a matter of setting dates and booking. They have a couple fairly well known girls. But then a lot who are just getting started. I of course won't post names until the filming is done. But these girls are def hot. The setup and tech stuff isn't super hard. Its much like photography. But I say that as someone who's taught lighting workshops and stuff so.. haha take it with a grain of salt I guess.
I don't watch a ton of strip tease videos. But when you find the right girl. They can be extremely sexy. I seen a webcam girl on about a week ago. She only teased taking off the top, flashed her breast a little and keep the panties on. and it was one of the hottest videos I've seen on here yet. Wish I could remember her name.
doowop While I love watching a girl get slammed. I also really love a sexy girl and her showing off the body. My biggest gripe with the striptease videos on SLR is there is no sound. StasyQ does a wonderful job with camera movement. But the music overlay does nothing for me personally. This is something I'm going to try and solve. I want to hear the models breathe in my ear. I want to hear the smacking of her ass.. I know it's not easy task by any means. Audio is tough. But I've got a few ideas on how I want to shoot it. And you're def right. There are a lot girls who aren't pornstars, that will do striptease videos.
From a consumers point of view I like things that increase my immersion. I don't mind stripdance/tease kind of videos, but I'm dissapointed when I glance down and don't see any legs. Could be dummy's legs for all I care, but when they're not there it's harder to put myself into the scene.
Another thing is when the model glances off screen, possibly for direction, maybe cause something in the studio caught her eye, either way it breaks my immersion. I have seen some studios doing a "blink" type action (when the screen goes dark for a second) and I imagine that could be used to cover up this sort of thing.
Just my two cents, hope the launch goes well!
The music overlay at Stasyq is ok? A lot of softcore stuff is heavily edited and stylized music videos which I’m ambivalent about. It allows the director/editor more control over the product, and maybe hides some models’ poor acting ability. On the other hand, I used to really like casting videos for DDF because the models were hot and it felt real. So either way is good!
Last thought: one plug for a softcore model - Anna Lisa Wagner. Incredible.
doowop Music in general in porn kills it for me. I don't mind if it's soft, background noise. But when its the focus point for sound. Instantly I close the video. With that said, if people like music. I'll add music. But eh not my thing.
Sent that chick and email. We'll see if she replies. Def agree though. She is gorgeous.
Rakly3 I'm wonder how that works with taxes. I'm selling the content here. But paying a girl from Europe.. I'll have to research it more. Europe is 100% an option. Cost there vs here would be about the same. I'll have to research some agencies there and find a place to rental studio space. Something like Peerspace.com
Rakly3 No I'm located in Arizona
How's the progress going?
