I would like to talk about this issue because I think it is important.
I only visit one of them but the models work hard, many times with insane schedules and endless shifts, many of them must be very tired. They also have to have pressure to do well for their studios and for themselves, it's a job, sometimes we forget that. But also, and this is what I want to discuss, they have to deal with people who just want to watch, without paying. Plus many of them don't even make conversation with the model or don't say anything, making it even more weird and creepy for the models. Imagine being 8, 10, 12 hours exposed in front of a camera knowing that people are watching you, watching a whole show (working, don't forget that) for free, without saying anything to you. I'm sure some models feel intimidated by that or get nervous at the thought of it. Causing them to feel worse, it's something that affects them mentally. And they don't have options to combat that problem here. When they can't take it anymore, they avoid leaving their shift because they get fined and their relationship with their studio gets worse.
I think there should be talks with the studios to review and improve their working conditions but that's another topic to discuss in another thread.
And I'm not talking about forcing people to talk, that's absurd. But I do think SLR can do some things to improve the experience for models, like giving them more options or setting certain limits. And I want to make it clear before I say anything that this should be just an option.I understand that webcams to a certain extent is free because it serves as a promotion for the models themselves and for the site and putting limits in itself does not help in any way. But why not give the model the option to activate a maximum time viewing mode for unregistered users? Or have a spy mode where anyone who wants to keep watching if a show starts can do so by contributing to the work and effort of the model. And I speak of this as an option, if the model wants to activate them or not it would be up to her. I think these simple options would improve the experience a bit.
It's good to talk about technical things, to have options on the web or the App, in short to discuss so that the user can have the best experience. But, sometimes, I think we forget the other part, the other side, the human side.Personally sometimes I feel bad for the model and trying to make them feel at ease by giving them more options to feel better in their work should be a priority because that in the end is going to have an impact on everyone.
Models need recognition and remuneration for their efforts, passion and dedication. Creating tools for them and a better environment for that should be everyone's responsibility, especially in a job like theirs where they are so exposed.
