Ooooookay. So, I subbed last month, and almost immediately after, the site seems to have gone through a bunch of changes and/or problems.
First, the videos broke. I'd been streaming through the Quest browser, and suddenly one day they were just all black screen, even though the time was counting up. This is still the case. And the SLR page doesn't even function in the Quest browser anymore normally, it forces you to go into a VR mode to use it. This should be optional.
I tried to get the SLR app and the DeoVR player, neither worked at all from the SLR site itself. Both dead links, would not download to the Quest. The "SLR app" link on the SLR site doesn't even take me anywhere unique, it's exactly the same as the DeoVR app link, so I don't know why you're even advertising that you have your own app - it's not available on your own site, let alone the Quest store page.
I then tried sideloading using apk files I found on my own. Neither the SLR app (mysteriously only available through sideloading!) or the DeoVR app worked this way. Both just endlessly showed those three white dots.
Finally got the DeoVR app through the Quest store page. Okay great, now videos actually work again. But the functionality is very stripped down and clunky, for example I can only use one tag at a time. Trying to use another overwrites the first one, instead of stacking them. But I CAN stack tags - if I search for them manually, which means typing in VR using the handsets. Over and over, since the app often resets to no search string.
The really big issue, though, is that I can no longer download any videos to the Quest directly. I had downloaded two of them before the site went berserk, but now neither the site in browser nor the DeoVR app interfaces show any video download in any menu. It's just not there anymore.
Bottom line, if I can't download, I'm gone. I don't buy games on Steam and then play them through the cloud. My internet service is lousy during times I could use SLR, so what I have to do is set up a download in the morning before work, and play the video offline later.
But maybe I missed the button somewhere?
