  • Oculus Browser works again! Nov-2021

The latest Oculus Browser update breaks SLR. If possible, do not update the browser until we have a fix. If I remember correctly, the Oculus Browser always asks if you want to update or not.

Please use the DeoVR/SLR app or Firefox browser instead.

When you say it breaks SLR, are you saying it disables script playback? That is the issue I am having with the latest SLR app on the Quest. The SLR app shows it is connected to SLR interactive and the secondary device running SLR interactive is definitely connected to the Onyx+. But now the script is not talking to the Onyx+. This did not happen with the old SLR app. Perhaps my Oculus browser updated at the same time as I switched to the newer SLR app; but now it simply doesn't work. And I cannot roll back to an older SLR app because it says the older app is "terminated".

sausageboy While the video is playing, bring up the play/pause bar. If everything is set up correctly and the video has a script, there should be an fleshlight-looking icon on the playbar. Click it to enable it. Blue = on.

Sorry, you are stating the obvious. I am not a newbie. My issue was as stated. I am fully aware of how the app is supposed to function and what the blue icon is. Been using it to play scripts for over a year. I tried this with multiple videos/scripts, headset and device restarts, checked the SLR app settings to confirm that the SLR interactive app was connected to the SLR app, device paired, etc., etc. etc. And as it turns out, my Oculus browser has NOT been updated. If you work for SLR, I suggest you take these bug reports more seriously.

Your issue isn't even related to the topic. Nor did it say it was. It's also not uncommon some one doesn't know about the blue button. Don't take it so personally. ;-)

The topic is for people who use the Oculus Browser to access our content.

sausageboy Im also having the same issue. This was all working this last Sunday and now the blue icon is gone. Hopefully they have a fix for this soon

SLR, could you create a new topic that makes it more clear what breaks, and what the progress towards fixing it is?

As far as I can tell all the videos for the site except live cams stopped working, but most of the comments here are about using the scripts for syncing the toys.

If the videos are working for everyone else, then I have a different problem.

neurotope They just don't work on Oculus Browser. Work still on all other browsers/systems. You can use Quest app or even Firefox Browser on your Quest.

The missing script icon thing is unrelated and will be fixed with an app update. Not really worth making a topic for.
App version older than v9.8 are no longer able to sync scripts either due to security update. There's nothing to fix here.

Rakly3 The issue is there's no "fleshlight" icon in videos anymore (white or blue), not even in DeoVR. That's true in Oculus Go anyway.

We will be releasing brand new version of WebXR player soon

Any update on the SLR working with the oculus browser, I updated it not knowing about the problem and I cant seem to downgrade to a older version. Also firefox is terrible.

truvin We strongly suggest using the app over a browser. It can play h265 and higher resolution. The interface is also a lot better.

Krazytrain oh, this is no longer applicable. The latest update right now works fine!

Rakly3 changed the title to Oculus Browser works again! Nov-2021 .

Sorry for the confusion but i was referring to the interactive icon showing up when playing videos.
I cant get it to work at all

Krazytrain Interactives aren't supported yet in WebXR. I can see introducing the Handy support at some point. If things go well we can have the rest interactives after it
