Upgrading from Oculus GO - suggestions?

I am considering upgrading from my Oculus GO.

I have looked at Quest 2 but am put off by their requirement that you have to have a Facebook account. I don't have any social media, and don't intend to get any, and the idea of connecting social media to a device I use solely for wanking sounds absolutely ludicrous to me. What is the deal with that?

Anyone have suggestions for other devices? I like the cordless "all in one" aspect of the Oculus GO.

There is the Pico Neo3. It is also Android based and theoretically, (as in I have not tried this,) should support the APKs, but the spec is lower and it costs much more.

As a fellow GO holdout I understand where you are coming from. I do not want a Facebook account, but if I do end up having to bite the bullet I am likely to use a fake "identity" and a disposable phone number to create the account. Services like Hushed let you rent a number for a few dollars so you can get the account set up.

A new quest headset might be announced soon, might be a good idea to wait for it, if you are not in a hurry.
Also quest 2 stocks are very low right now, would be a miracle to even find one.

I have a Go and I upgraded to Quest 2 months ago , like you I wasn't to keen on having to use my Facebook account to log in , but you can switch on privacy settings so nobody knows what your watching.
The Quest 2 is better than Go , the battery life is better and you can tilt the camera up and down when watching a video on SLR, visually it's better a lot clearer , the only thing I don't like is the weight of the headset it's too heavy and not as comfortable as the Go headset , also the headstrap can be a pain to adjust, I still use my Go when the battery goes dead on the quest 2 , it is worth while getting the Quest 2 it's better but if your not in a hurry wait for the Quest 3 it will be better.
