  • App won't stay logged in

SO I keep getting logged out of the app every time I close it. Yes, I have ticked the 'remember me' box but the app still refuses to remember me.

I originally let google choose a strong password for me when signing up, but having to enter that every time got to be a real pain so now I'm forced to change to a less secure, but easier to type using controller and onscreen keyboard.

Is there a trick to getting the app to remember my login?

I have the same issue, but only for the website.
Also, you can use your actual keyboard while in VR. I select the textbox in VR, copy the password from my password manager, and paste using my keyboard.

Thanks very much for that tip! I'd rather not have to log in each time and I've raised a support ticket, but this is going to make things a lot easier.

      Thanks again.

with the remember me box, do you mean the one on the website or in the app? Which system are you running the app on? Headset, PC, phone, SteamVR, OculusVR, WMR?

I have the same issue with the website aswel.

I winder if this issue is limited to Windows.

I'm using Oculus Rift and have tried mulitple methods:

        1. Launch SLR app from SLR.com
        2. Manually launch SLR app from downloaded file
        3. Launch SLR app from within Oculus
        4. Launch DEO VR from within Oculus

None of these methods have kept me logged in beyond that session.

/edit I'm talking about the remember me box in the app/s, but I've also ticked the box on the website.

sickpuppies So, just to be clear, that's all on Windows?
Which VR driver(s)? SteamVR and/or Oculus and/or WMR?

Did you request a password reset in the past days? (including not actually having changed your password.)

Yeah, all on Win 10. I use the Oculus PC app to launch mostly, but have also launched from desktop and from SLR web. I changed my password from the google strong suggested one to something easier to remember a few days ago cause I didn't like having to enter one full of special characters.

Initially though (been a member for a week or so) I only had to log in every day or two. After that I was having to log in every time I opened the app (both the SLR app and DEO) so I changed it. Another member mentioned I can copy the password to clipboard and ctrl-v it in using the keyboard, which does work, but I'd obviously rather the app remember me.

Have you guys also changed your password around the time you started having this issue?

Where did you install the app(s) from? Oculus app store, website, Steam? Which platform are you using to run the app? Oculus, WMR, SteamVR?

Can you guys check the installation folders' properties of the app(s) and UN-check Read Only? Make sure the app is not running prior to changing it.

If that didn't help, can you check under the Security-tab and enable full control for System and Users? IF you have All Application Packages, there too. Here too make sure the app is not running while changing this.

Rakly3 I unchecked the read-only box but that didn't work. For some reason the bo was always re-checked when I went back into folder properties. Next I tried to edit permissions, but that didn't work either.

I decided to download through Steam and try over there, but with the same results. Then I remembered reading something ages ago that was related to permissions in which you had to add a new user through the advanced interface in the security tab. I tried deleting the existing "Users" but was denied, so I created another "Users" and gave it full control. Now my app stays logged in when used in Steam, and in Oculus.

Not entirely sure if the apps (2 different install locations, but same DEO VR app) share local data (logins) or if it goes back to a database, or if my earlier attempts to fix the Oculus version of the app finally decided to work, but both apps stay logged in. I did restart my machine after getting it to work through Steam so maybe other users can check the provided steps and restart in between?

Anyway, I'll monitor this over the next few days to make sure it stays logged in.

                THanks for your assist 💯

sickpuppies Ah maybe you're not member of Admins and Device Owners. (You must log out and back in after making changes to this for it to apply.)

But if it's working normally now, I wouldn't change anything. Glad it works and hope it stays this way! It could also be it only affects the installation via Oculus.

Rakly3 That would be odd, I dont have mulitple accounts etc on my computer, just the main one that is Admin. Anyway not going to muck around with it. It's kept me logged in overnight so I'm calling this a success.

                    Cheers.
