Hey, is there a third party video editor that I can edit these videos, and when it renders them out, it will still retain the stereoscopic 3D nature of the vids? I just want to trim out huge sections of video that I don't care to watch anyway. The file sizes add up and become ridiculous. Just put in some smooth transitions between scenes, rename it as the same name as the source file, delete the source file and I just cut the file size in half.

Is this possible? I heard Pinnacle Studio can edit VR footage, but can't find any indication of the words 3D or anything like that. It says that it can import H.264 and H.265 files. But it always speaks in terms of 360 degree videos. But these vids are all 180 degree fov. I dunno. Just started thinking to do this. I assume a shorter edited video will break toy scripts too. I would have to edit the timing on those scripts as well.

avidemux. it is free and I use it to cut my video to pieces without losing any quality or recoding as long as you cut at keyframes. Free/fast/easy. what more could you ask for?

Cool. Free is worrisome, but I'll look into it. I don't lose quality or recoding as long as I cut it at what?

no worries, it's open source I think and I use it every single day for months

losslesscut works as well for encode-free trimming. It's a bit janky in terms of UI but it works great if you're only interest in a chunk of a video (or need just a segment of a video without loading the entire video into your video editor).

ThePointyEnd I may give that a try but not sure it would work better. Right now I have been catching up on a lot of videos I am archiving. In order not to waste room I am cutting out any parts that are not necessary or just don't do it for me. With avidemux I can select portions and delete them as many pieces as I like then save the whole thing without encoding and very fast. I generally cut all BJ parts out unless something special and most from the rear views unless you can see her face.

I agree. Lots of the sex positions are only worth it if you're doing it in real life. Not worth the disc space.
The reason I've been asking about this, is I got the vids before the vr headset; haven't bought it yet. Downloading and editing takes a long time; so I can use the time to do it while still saving up for the headset.

So if I spend all this time editing vids and they ruin the render file somehow, because the editor wasn't designed to work with 3D 180 degree VR videos, I have no way of beta testing the rendered videos right now, so when I get the headset and realize I wasted all that time, I'll be pissed.

That sounds cool, thanks for the reply.
Seems like a streaming feature. As for me personally, I will take care of all that myself, I just need to find an editor that won't screw my offline video files. Playing vr vids are taxing enough on the pc; don't want to be streaming them as well. And trusting the fidelity of internet connections, which have a reputation for being fickle.

Johnny166 Don't worry at all I have been using avidemux extensively and I just even tried the losslesscut that ThePointyEnd mentioned and it seems fine. It has not issues wit it being 180, that doesn't affect it a bit as the two sides are just parts of one frame. If you can play it without issues flat in a media player then you did it correctly. The problem is certain videos can have a couple odd frames if you cut it but I rarely run into this and also you are limited to cut at keyframes otherwise there will be some corruption. As I said if the program runs fairly quickly it is not re-encoding it just piecing it together and if you can play it in windows, it will be great in VR.

doublevr I love that idea as well, but right now this can be done individually on videos and it saves it. Although the list of similar AB segments is something I would like also, more importantly I would like to save multiple AB segments of one video and not worry about them disappearing somehow. This method will be fantastic for me to use on videos I like but can live without. Many videos are like gold to me and like others I want to safeguard these treasure on my PC. That is where the editor comes most into play.

Johnny166 Are you looking to commission these requests or looking to see if you can pay someone to do this? If so, I may be able to assist during my downtime.
