Webcam streams hang several times at start

When I try to watch a webcam stream or a liveshow with the quest 2 the stream seems to start several times until it runs without interruptions. Sometimes it takes more than a minute until the stream runs fluently.

Is this problem known already?

What causes this behaviour? Is there some kind of bandwidth adaption process?

Would be nice if this could be optimized. Thanks 🙂

fluxys Some of the (cam) streams are higher quality, it's possible you experience some minor buffering. A downstream of at least 50Mbps is recommended.

That's just your buffer not being... buffered enough, yet.

doublevr I´ve done the test a couple of times and most of the time I got over 100 Mb/s but sometimes (approx. each 10th test) I only got 6-8 MB/s, what is strange. I have no problems streaming videos from slr. could it be a bad path to the dreamcam servers or any other performance issues on their site?

doublevr please issue command "tracert speedtest.dreamcam.com" in command line prompt several times. to check if there any changes in a routing path.

DCsupport The path stays the same but the destination-server and the last router seem not to answer each time correctly. I get there sometimes asterisk symbols during the 3 pings of tracert. Maybe an overload of these machines?

With GizmoVR (sideloaded on Q2) the webcams start fast and are playing without any interruptions via stripchat.com.

Why is the same experience not possible with DeoVR?
