I think directors need to think about who is watching VR porn. A lot of us are people that are single and like VR for the realism and intimacy.
With a wife scene I can pretend she is my wife. With a wife scene you can get all the loving words that we all like to here. Baby, honey, sweetie, my hubby, I LOVE YOU. I love you is almost never said in VR porn but it sounds amazing when I hear it.
Some of us are lonely and are seeking a connection with a woman even if it is only for a little bit of fantasy in porn. It's a lot easier to get the intimacy with a wife over banging your neighbor. The neighbor isn't going to say all the loving words that your wife is going to. None of the scenarios other than GFE or wife will have this. Except sometimes stepmom will say these things. I think that is why some people like thoses scenes. Not the story but the words that are said.
