kingwizard Some technical question about the practical benefit of end-trimming (end time) in BYOJ 2.0 for each clip.
I understand that the start time defines where playback begins. What is the concrete benefit of also setting an end time, especially in situation when there is a jump before the end of the clip?
Regarding HLS segment requests and buffering. Does the player stop requesting further segments once the end time is reached? Does a properly set end time help the next video start faster or more reliably (e.g. by keeping the buffer cleaner)?
In my tests I usually place the end time 2 seconds after the jump. Is this a good practice, or do you recommend a different margin? Sometimes I do not trim the end at all and it feels the output is the same. No benefits from trimming the end. What it the truth? If there is not even marginal gains maybe we should get rid of the end trimming entirely? Makes the creating process faster and simply.
Any technical insight from the player/streaming side would be very helpful.
