Are the default settings the best for picture quality?

I recently purchased some videos and I was wondering if the default settings are the best for picture quality?
The reason I ask is that I noticed some videos can appear too bright or not enough saturation and I have to adjust the settings.

Guess that's on a per-case basis. Different display = different color
Changing the refresh-rate on the same display often even changes color perception.
I have 2 identical monitors and even those I can't get 100% tuned the same.

Need super expensive professional monitors hand tuned at factory to get actual same colors.

For VR video I sometimes turn up the saturation a notch if the colors are too washed, or 'flat'.

Rakly3 Yes i too have to turn up the saturation on some videos to get rid of the washed out look .
