The issue of vredging “duplicate scenes”

ETH34

Please allow vredging to release hardcore director’s cuts again.

They are by far the best studio on your platform and you’re slowly killing them…

Everybody wants the hardcore director’s cuts back and we never had any issues prior to your policy change which unfairly targeted vredging…

Now they have even resorted to releasing only 1 video instead of 2 videos per week recently citing your hostile policy.

Please make an exception for this particular studio or come up with a different solution.

Thankyou

Metamucil

Came here to write this. Their directors cuts are the best. This is duplicate policing gone wrong.

I agree that VREdging is on a good side. Let me check things internally

I'm a massive fan of VREdging, it's what I watch 70% of the time on SLR and I totally miss those extra scenes

But the rules have to be for everyone, SLR cannot ban 'duplicate scenes' for everyone except for one studio

I thought I read on the forum somewhere that duplicate scenes are allowed - they just do not appear on the SLR homepage for new scenes? Am I mis-remembering?

That would be fine, as VREdging fans would be following their channel and (when SLR actually implement it) will receive notifications of new uploads, even if they didn't appear on the SLR homepage

True, but this isn't a case of playing favorites. The intent of the rule is to stop identical scenes being posted under different names to draw in more clicks than it normally would. Posting a hardcore vs. softcore version of the scene, while having some overlap in content is not the same and does not break the spirit of the rule. The ask here isn't to break the rule for one studio, rather to make sure the rule doesn't affect things it shouldn't.

It would be interesting to hear opinions on RealHotVR pulling their scenes and releasing under SeductiveVR which for me personally is very shady - Whether it's been upscaled to 8k or not is debatable, but even if that is the case why release under a different studio.

Does the studio have a explanation of this ?

I think we all know the answer to this rhetorical query 🙂

As for VREdging 'Directors Cut' i think most users want these releases to return as they actually add to the initial release rather than remove content that some studios had been doing - cough, cough (Lethal Hardcore, Deepinsex and others)

The truth is it's quite a difficult one for the mods / SLR to judge and be fair to all parties - Good luck guys

Disclaimer: Just my opinion...

jommy

That was part of the reason yeah, another issue was studios chopping their scene up into multiple parts so each scene had front page attention - more clicks, views, revenue

Allowing hardcore scenes to release a duplicate non-hardcore of the same exact scene is just going to spam the front page which was the original issue

Over the past 7 days, 133 scenes that were uploaded are tagged as hardcore - if they all released a second non-HC scene there would be 266 scenes (per week?) spamming the front page. That's a lot of crap for paying customers to filter through!

Every single studio would release a second cut, it's extra income for little effort or cost

I think a fair approach is allowing studios to upload multiple cuts/editions to their studio page, but only one of those videos can be shown on the front page of SLR

That would result in:

Customers are happy with more videos
Studios earn more money from additional views
SLR doesn't have a spammed front page of (effectively) duplicate videos

It's a right pain in the ass when people min-max for profits - it's the same crap on YouTube

In this case the studio has now trashed their brand identity and they are somewhat of an unknown studio to casual viewers

There can be legit reasons to rebrand, but this just looks like a money-grab from a quick look, especially considering they have disabled comments on all of their videos - that should give a big minus for the algorithm 🙄

I'm a big fan of having videos display an original filmed/released date that is unavoidable when browsing, this will clearly show to people that it isn't a new scene and encourage studios to upload new scenes

Totally agree with you, but i won't give a full answer for fear of getting off track regarding VREdging which was my fault, but for me all part of the bigger picture, sorry 🙂

I could be wrong, but I think I read that that is exactly what happens right now. One goes on the homepage, the rest go in the sandbox. I also thought VREdging didn't like this and instead of opting to go this route, just arbitrarily decided to only publish the softcore release, and just not put the hardcore release out there at all, rather than have it end up in the sandbox. 🤷

Metamucil

acjackson2431 I don't blame them at all. This is just VREs chosen format of posting and they have been consistent. VRE fans recognize it and know what to expect. It seems like VRE got hit with shrapnel because of all the other studios that were truly abusing the system. Like when my office banned all employees from wearing jeans because an ass hat wore tore up and dirty jeans to work when senior management was in town.

HughMungus

Metamucil This is exactly how i see it too.

VRedging weren't a problem with their format, no one complained about it, but then Deepinsex and Lethal Hardcore started copying them and they took it to the extreme. Deepinsex started cutting each scene into 4 different "New" releases and Lethal was heading down the same road.

I think people don't realize how much shittier our content could be today if SLR hadn't stepped in and stopped it when they did. It sucks that VRedging got caught in the crossfire, but your jeans analogy pretty much nailed it.

They can't give one studio unfair treatment and the rule is in place to keep the new content as high quality as it can be.

Metamucil

HughMungus They certainly can make an exception for a studio, especially one that puts out good content and if their client base accepts it. Deep in Sex takes it to an extreme and Lethal was reposting a lot of older content. I don't know, to me it never felt like VRE was doing anything disingenuous. I'd gladly take the mess over not getting the sex portions of VRE videos. They have brought back the ability to block studios for those that don't want to see it.

As I said in the other thread, they should make a Hide Duplicates toggle like they did with Compilations, which were way more of a mess prior to the toggle.

I hope it gets worked out somehow. It would be ideal if VRE just released their directors cuts, but I hope not to miss out based on both parties being stubborn. I just want one party to compromise.

I am mostly fired up because they have a new Barbie Rous scene and she hasn't had anything new for a while.

HughMungus

Metamucil I'm right there with you on Barbie Rous, she's one of my favorites and it's been 6-12 months since we got a new scene with her. I was starting to think she retired.

Spot on my friend. It makes me even more frustrated that the quality is as bad as it used to be about 2 year ago. For example this video has been "updated" to 8K but picture is bad compared to modern SLR videos and there is still wrong vertical offset. They have even disabled the comment section because users would just complain this kind of crap and shady action.

Cheers - I honestly think the mods have a thankless task here as no matter what they do they will be told they are wrong and upset someone.

Personally i've adapted as i see all the shenanigans, from certain studios but keep schtum just to keep the peace in the main.

But every now and again they need a flick on the ear just to keep 'em in check...

...Also RedHotVR did release that Kylie Rocket scene which compensates for all the mistakes - Crazy good scene that got pulled and re-released with segments out of order, great quality control as usual lol 🙂

You all dont seem to understand the History of this situation regarding VREDGING...
They are a site that has been making VR content for a Long time... 5+ years. Pretty sure they used to have their own website... they don't anymore. They only produce content now with a very small team. Back in the day, they would only do Edging content with their videos. Hardcore was very rare.
A couple years ago they decided to shoot full sex and save that Hardcore footage (I dont know if they had a plan for a New HC site or another pay wall but they probably did).
Then... sites like SLR came about with the multi-Studio model. VRedging became popular on SLR with their amazing Edging content that they took great pride in creating. They decided to just release the Hardcore content here (SLR) under their well known brand VREDGING and on other sites (vrporn . Com) at the same time as "Hardcore Director's Cuts". The HC DC's added a solid 15-20 minutes of Amazing 🔥🔥🔥 Hardcore Sex & were very well received by their fans. They already had the hottest girls and the Director's Cuts only took things to the next level. Their fans loved the system of an Edging scene followed by the HC DC a few weeks later... everyone was happy... life was good.
For some reason that has stopped...
I don't really care the reason why...
SLR Staff fucked this up IMO... Because VRedging hasn't released a HC DC anywhere on Any site when they stopped HERE... they ARE waiting for SLR to figure this out.
Please Fix ASAP... VRedging still has all the HC DC Footage for scenes without one (patiently waiting for @doublevr to see that they ARE a special Studio and need special treatment).
They are an Edging niche Studio that decided to expand, dont punish them and even worse your customers for that... Give Us The Content We Want!

jommy

A lot of us are aware of their story, but that doesn't mean they should get preferential treatment over other studios, that's how you create a resentful and hostile platform that stifles growth

It's their choice if they want to release hardcore videos or not

Hopefully there can be some changes made for all studios and not just VREdging

VRedging is my favorite studio so I'll chime in.

It's not us users job to figure out this situation regarding the director's cuts being released and I don't blame VRE at all for what they were doing.

Just really disappointed its taking so long to resolve so we can enjoy their director's cuts.

Edit: maybe one day 🤞
