More and more scenes in DeoVR are only available in 1080p

I'm running Windows 11 with a Valve Index. For about the last two weeks, many new scenes—especially all the SLR ones—only offer a 1080p streaming option in DeoVR. My streaming speed test shows 228 Mbps, which should be more than sufficient for higher resolutions. I've already tried reinstalling DeoVR and clearing the cache, but higher resolution options are still unavailable.

Morguun, we’ve updated our encoding pipeline to focus on the resolutions that are actually used by most viewers. This allows us to deliver better quality and faster availability, while removing rarely used formats that added overhead but little value.

JordanSLR could you elaborate? Is DeoVR not supported? I have the same problem with DeoVR, only 1080p streaming, it's unwatchable. That's far from the better quality you mention. Web browser shows resolutions up to 4000p.
Old videos show more resolutions on DeoVR, new videos are crappy quality. At least new SLR and Vredging scenes.
I was planning on getting a yearly sub, but if there is only 1080p streaming, what's the point?

DeoVR Rift on Windows PC with Oculus Rift now only shows 1080 vids on almost every movie.
I dont see a way to change the codec in DeoVR Rift.
I purchased the hevc codecs for windows.

AshSLR DeoVR is current version from Steam, updated couple days ago. Headset is Quest 2, but shouldn't matter since it's PCVR.

IVIikko thank you! It’s likely that your player is currently set to the H264 codec, which can limit available resolutions. Please try switching the codec to H265 in the player settings — this should restore higher resolution options.

EveSLR Thanks, that worked! I think only reason I would have changed it is because SLR had problems with some videos not playing at all after website upgrade and accidentally left it after testing different options.

IVIikko Thanks for the update! Our team has identified that this setting can sometimes reset when playing the next video. We’re currently investigating this issue.

In Deovr, it jitters when I move cam up and down with control stick , also when i use dome rotation it's moves jittery. Video plays fine its just the control movements up and down.

I've got the exact same issue as OP. Valve Index on Windows 11, using the latest version of DeoVR on steam. All videos are only available in 1080p...

Hi Alex, please tel me how to change the Codec.
I have Deovr Rift and since about 1 or two weeks almost every video is played in 1080 or 1920.
i tried swithing Directplay or alternative player. i purchased the microsoft hevc codec, but nothing works.
and i don´t see a way to set codec in deovr rift.
i have lifetime premium.

Is Oculus Rift not longer supported? are there any working vr apps with toy sync for slr?

pcyber Hi, you can change encoding in player settings, on the right player panel. Go to tab called "Options" and there you will see a dropdown with available encodings.
