Recently discovered some of my downloads are corrupt. They will play but at some point the image will freeze, and will keep playing if I seek forward a bit. I'm trying to weed them out by running `ffmpeg -v error -f null` on my downloads, but each scan is taking extremely long. I see a 5-digit number in each file. Is that a checksum? I've run cksum, md5, shasum -a 256, shasum -a 1, but none of them match the numbers on the files.

Just re-downloaded a couple of files. Turns out the problem wasn't my download, but the video itself. Don't know if it's from the encode or the studio master.

For what it's worth, I've changed my checker to check only the audio stream, as it's faster and seems to be catching some corrupt files:
ffmpeg -v error -map 0:a:0 -f null - -i input.mp4

In other news, I need a faster external drive!

The 5 digit number in file names are for scene numbering, an easy way to identify scenes

You can type the number in SLR search and it will show the video it is tied to

AlexSLR I usually download the max-resolution HEVC re-encodes (not studio masters).

I'm still hesitant about AV1. I found on most older AV1 re-encodes that come out to almost the same size or smaller than their HEVC re-encodes, the HEVC comes out on top very slightly with better skin textures. But I'm seeing newer AV1 re-encodes that appear to be significantly larger than HEVC... so I'm assuming AV1 re-encodes are using higher bitrates for better image quality? At worst I'll have to compare files on a case-by-case basis: downloading AV1 and HEVC re-encodes is still a smaller download than a studio master.
