Im running into problems w/ streaming some videos over 2160p...
Have you tried to use DXVA2 (native) as hardware decoder in LAV filters and switch of Direct Show slider in Deo or SLR?
That's my settings and playback of up to 8k just work fine with a GTX1070. With 8k I have gpu video decoder usage of ~90 and cpu 10-20%
Philip I now also tried to download 90fps videos (I used the 90fps filter slider to find them) and see strange behaviour:
I tried the JVR videos and there if I click at the download button for the 90fps file nothing happens. Example: https://www.sexlikereal.com/scenes/slutty-new-boss-encourages-her-employee-with-a-different-way-11395
Then I found a video from VRP where download of the 90fps file is possible: https://www.sexlikereal.com/scenes/stuff-my-stockings-9316
But the download speed is horrible. I only get 135Kbit/s!! Firefox download window says 11 days left to download. On all other files the download speed goes up the max speed of my internet connection (50Mbit/s)
Are the 90fps files not stored any more on the CDN backend servers but on some slow backup servers? Can it be the same for streaming so that Deo or SLR falls back to some reachable files?
Thanks for all the help!
I switched to DXVA2 Native. Offline videos (6K) now play at 90fps with no issues or stuttering. However, I still can't get streaming videos to play properly. They used to play just fine at 90fps. Now it defaults to H264 and 60fps and my computer gets really loud.
Here is everything I have tried so far:
1. Installed K-Lite (this uninstalled my previously installed LAV Filters but then re-installed as part of K-Lite).
2. Went into the Codec Tweak Tool > General: Fixes, checkmark all available options. Apply & close. > Miscellaneous: Various Tweaks. checked all. Win7DSFilterTweaker: Preferred decoders: set H.26x and mpg related to LAV.
This didn't work and started impacting offline files. So:
1. Uninstalled K-Lite and LAV filters
2. Uninstalled SteamVr and SLR app.
3. Re-installed just LAV filters and set it to DXVA2 Native (I tried all the other options too but this one is the only option that plays 6K offline files smoothly).
Streaming files still don't play properly. I'm connected to a 1440p monitor but just to confirm that isn't the issue, I unplugged it after launching SLR. Still no luck on the streaming front.

I think I found it. Spent quite some time on this so I hope my findings are correct.
Seems like the problematic files are using software parameters. They all have a secondary format.
ie main@L6.1@High
- WMF: Windows Media Foundation
- WMP: Windows Media Player
When disabling WMF for mp4 , the videos (obviously) don't work. In either Movies & TV or WMP.
Turning WMF on, Movies & TV plays the files just fine, HW + CPU
WMP however can barely play the videos. No HW and god knows what's happening to the CPU; It doesn't look pretty.
Likely issue:
Local files SLR player does whatever Movies & TV is doing.
Streaming SLR player falls back to whatever WMP is doing.
Lower resolution are probably not an issue and could vary from system to system(?)
Videos without secondary parameters work just fine. ie High@L6
NOTE: Movies & TV doesn't allow streaming from custom URL's. The app has recently had a big update to compete with Netflix and Prime video, maybe prior to this update it was still possible to use custom URL's.
These problem files coincidentally are the same of which WMP doesn't keep an index and doesn't list on DLNA.
Suggestion, Uninstall windows update or try a fresh windows installation without installing the latest update.
Hi - thanks. So in summary, the latest Windows Update is causing the problem?
I'm not clear how to roll back to a previous version. When you say a fresh Windows installation... that I can do... but I don't know what you mean by "without installing the latest update". Do you mean the latest update of Windows or the latest update of Movies & TV app? Would uninstalling Movies and TV work?
I'm not clear what exactly I should do.
Appreciate the help. And for context, I'm using a Windows Mixed Reality Headset (using Steam VR)

It's not definitive, who knows there is a fix for it. Or it's something totally unrelated to what I said.
These are just my finding from testing.
Uninstalling Movies & TV isn't going to work I think. SLR uses the same setting/files as Movies & TV, but it's not dependent on the app afaik.
Windows 10 also grabs updates from the internet while it's installing. I have no idea which updates it does and does not. Probably security patches and drivers, I don't know about the content patches.
Hi
Issue is fixed! Here is what I did:
- Clean install of Windows (removed all files).
- Did all Windows updates
- Re-installed SteamVR, Mixed Reality and SLR
At this point, nothing was streaming or playing (as expected since I did not have any codecs).
- Installed LAV Filters (not K-Lite). Set LAV Filters to DXVA (copy back).
At this point local files were playing great but I was seeing the same issue with streaming. Other options in LAV did not give me 90+ FPS (e.g. CUVID)
Installed HVEC codec from Windows Store.
Set Direct Show "on" in SLR app settings
Now Streaming is also working great (H265 at 90+ FPS).
I suspect the clean install rolled back something.
pronex69 I sorta kinda want a fresh install myself. I'll see what I can find uninstalling certain updates first.
Could people also list some stuff for me.
Issue in SteamVR, Oculus (PC), WMR
Headset. OS (likely Win10 for every one with this issue)
Right click on the start button and go to System
Should open the About page. Scroll down to Windows specifications and copy (or screenshot) those specs. 'Installed on' I don't need though
Thanks!
I have an i7-2700k (old I know) and a GTX 1070 using an Oculus Go. What’s the highest quality I can stream from SkyBox to my Go? I’ve currently been using 1920p but I want to try and squeeze the most out of it as possible.

I feel silly not thinking of this sooner.
Any person with this issue willing to uninstall all GPU related drivers, settings, registry with DDU?
I've used it countless times, it's safe, I would recommend downloading your GPU driver installer first from nvidia so you can install them immediately after reboot.
Display Driver Uninstaller
Download links at bottom of page.
Select Intel Graphic driver and click the DO NOT restart button.
Then select the Nvidia drivers and click the Clean and Restart button.
If it for some reason doesn't reboot, you can just do it manually.
Any one with this issue has Whirlgig woking?

Has anyone a real fix for this yet? I tried everything in this thread except a complete reinstall of windows, which I'm not gonna do.
Can't play any video at H265. Meaning I can't play anything at 90Hz or 120Hz
