plantninja The XR2 chip in the Quest 2 supports it.
As far I know, and I have been looking, I find no info that either confirms or denies support for it by the Quest 2. Specifically the display.
If they did support it, I'm pretty sure it would be mentioned as one of the main features. Oculus/FB doesn't even want to confirm the FOV. I'm surprised actually no one made a simple 180° or 360° image with 'degree-lines' so you can actually SEE what the FOV is of any headset.
10-bit on a LCD display with 18to20 PPD (guestimate, need vFOV) would be too expensive also.
There's a bunch of stuff the XR2 can do but isn't supported, either hardware- or software-wise.
5G, eyetracking, 4x4MIMO (Q2 does do 2x2MIMO)
Considering Qualcomm's VR roadmap, I think it won't be too long before we start seeing lighter smaller headsets that connect to a XR2 powered phone for VR.
The images are a bit outdated, the human malware bug wasn't a thing yet either.
