Other studio just did a massive drop of passthrough vids

Picouser ARPorn has added about 15 AI PT videos to their catalogue which was only AR PT videos until now. AI PT = regular VR videos made PT later on by removing things, AR PT = VR videos shot in front of a green screen and male performers wearing suits.

The issues I was referring to were related to AI PT. As far as I remember, either too much was removed or too little, and there were visual artifacts. It seemed their tech just wasn't ready, and after a while they stopped releasing new AI PT scenes on VRPorn.

SchnuppiLilac I agree. SLR's AI PT is the TOP bar and we can only hope that what ARPORN are doing is of decent quality 🤞

renstimpy11 Nobody wants to be party pooper, but all of those comments have a fair point. Always something wrong (usually focus difference between lenses or bad vertical offset), which should have been avoided if done properly (think of check lists in aviation). Studios make it so hard to praise something. That's why I have 102 hidden studios. There is definitely quantity over quality in sexlikereal 🙁

I can confirm, ARporn AI passthrough is still garbage. I bought a monthly to check out the new AI passthrough releases, and they are terrible. Lily Larimar without a head is not fun to watch. And the Playa app is still my least favorite, even with the updates they have been making like integrating haptics. No where near SLRs AI pass through quality. Don’t waste your money on this one like I did.

Same here got a monthly sub $10 to test the waters. The AR videos are superb, however the AI PT are garbage. Some of them don't even play, just crash playa.

SLR AI PT is "ok". Not perfect, some of the masks are way out of sync or completely botched sometimes & the lack of streaming in max quality doesn't help either. If they can manage to fix those issues, the service would be my only sub, for sure.

BTW good luck cancelling ARporn. One of the only sites I've seen where you can't cancel your sub though the site. Gave me the runaround for a few days. So watch out.

Interesting takes. I’ve found that some of the ARPorn scenes released on VRPorn and played on Playa are incredibly realistic. It wasn’t however until I started adjusting the picture that I achieved this realism. Unfortunately every video is different. Some it was just the contrast and brightness. Others I have to manually play in fisheye.

Once you get it dialed in, damn it feels like the chicks are right there in the room especially during sitting cowgirl …which has become my personal favorite.

Danronald yes, the ARporn videos that use alpha packing are pretty well done (subjectively). I’m speaking specifically about the passthrough AI videos. The ARporn AI pass through mask is not nearly as good as SLR. That said, I don’t watch much AI passthrough because even the slightest artifacts these days bring me straight out of immersion. Both Nash and George have been killing it lately with their alpha passthrough quality, at least in my opinion. And the VRspy alpha passthrough quality has been fantastic!

While they could be superb, they all have that one issue imo that ruins all positions that are not very close to the viewer. It's a bit hard to describe but it seems that everything gets larger the farther it is away along the depth axis. Maybe it's not as bad anymore as in the very beginning but still far from perfect.

This is so true of ARporn alpha passthrough, it's so frustrating! I actually think SLRs passthrough production crews have the scale issue down pretty good these days. Especially the most recent alpha's from George and Nash. I've also found the VRspy alpha passthrough's to be very good! While I've been a long time subscriber to VRporn, only for the AR porn releases, I rarely turn to those videos, and find myself returning to the SLR passthroughs.

I do sometimes like ARporns seated cowgirl scenes, but I don't know if that is enough to justify a monthly sub. I should really cancel my VRporn sub until it improves.

Have you tried changing the "projection" in Playa (next to the resolution icon) from 180 to fisheye? That usually corrects the distorted look.

whoisjgalt is there any difference between what VRPorn has vs ARPorn? It looks like the same content to me.

exzeth Yes, I am doing the 180/fisheye projection change, but the issue I mentioned is occurring after this change. I am downloading these videos from vrporn and watch them in Heresphere. I tried a few times also changing the lense profile from 180 to 190 but that didn't really fix it.

SchnuppiLilac That link goes straight to the Join page for me. Are the newer ones you are seeing still bad quality AI PT? Unwatchable or just pretty bad?
Also, are they releasing AI Scripts for these? Anyone tested them?

renstimpy11 Can't watch these scenes, don't have a subscription and there seem to be no free trailers. I can see 32 AI PT video thumbnails, all of them have a toy/script icon. Within the last two weeks, it seems they have separated those scenes from the general AR PT library and put them into an isolated category page. Would they do that if the AI PT was spectacular? I don't think so.

I needed around a dozen of ARporn's Alpha PT scenes so I subbed yesterday. I can confirm that the AI PT seems amateur.
First off, you cant download them. I foolishly hoped it would be like BaDoink's releases via RealVR where you can download the AI PT scenes with the Alpha channel intact.
Nope... only way to see the AI PT from ARPorn is to use the Play'A app, which sucks honestly and the scenes are blurry.
Also, all of the AI PT scenes all have AI Scripts (not downloadable) that need the Play'A app also. I did not test those.

renstimpy11 I think the Ai Passthrough scenes use a 'Mask' rather than the Alpha Channel so these can't be downloaded - Different tech from Alpha Passthrough scenes.

It would be nice if the tech was available to download the 'Mask' similar to a Adobe Path, but i guess it's not possible.

you probably already know this, but dont forget you can download them right onto your headset, go into DeoVR and manually remove the grey background in passthrough . There is a non-ai way to do it. Its not perfect but you can definitely do it on Deo, I have a few from that studio on my quest as we speak
