I’m not against downloads — let me be clear on that. But personally, I don’t prefer them.
For me, having a download option can backfire. I get trigger happy and start downloading too much, and that just doesn’t work for how I consume content. Streaming only is the best fit for me — it keeps things simple and under control.
That’s why I’d really love to see VR sites offer a streaming-only subscription as an option, right alongside their usual "stream + download" packages.
Actually, a nice middle ground would be:
A streaming-only plan,
Or a plan with streaming plus a small download limit — like 5 downloads a month.
But unlimited downloads? Honestly, that gives me anxiety. It's just not for me.
Also, shoutout to DeoVR — the way it streams is impressive. You can skip forward and it barely buffers. It feels almost like watching a local file.
Back in the day, you had to download because streaming was too slow — skipping ahead would take 30 seconds or more. But now? DeoVR’s streaming performance has come a long way, and it makes streaming a smooth experience. 👍😌
