Some details about the Oculus Quest 2 have been leaked today, I have heard several of the SLR staff say that they expected it to be a good device for SLR now that Oculus Go has been discontinued.
The leak videos are here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_b8xf2DpAMk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4EPMxJiJRQ
The change that seems most relevant is that the screens are about 50% more pixels than the Quest v1 and Go, at "nearly 2K per eye". No more information on the screen though, yet. It's lighter, too, which could be a good thing for comfort.
I'll probably not be buying anything else from Oculus, as tying things into facebook and pervasive surveillance isn't something I want to support. If you were happy just with downloaded content, though, you could turn off wifi and it would presumably be a good device. But I like cams and the option to do streaming, whether DLNA or WWW, is a good one to have.
What do others think? Does it look like a good device? I'm still quite new to the world of VR, so I'm not very confident about what to look for with hardware.
