Anyone else notice auto focus isn't necessarily working automatically anymore? (Quest 3)
Seems like it used to know that your focal point got closer and adjust. Now if I get to a point in the scene where the focal point is up close, I have to manually set depth? Isn't that a big step backwards? Because we've always been able to manually adjust that. Or do I have something in my settings messed up?

Reeses Hey, could you please specify a version of the DeoVR app you use?

Hello! Can you provide a videoID and timestamp where this problem is most noticable? It have option to set depth manually, but should do automatically if manual depth toggle is off

@Reeses Autofocus can be a bit tricky, especially with those ultra close-up scenes 🙂.
We made improvements to the Autofocus system a few versions ago (DeoVR v14.7 in April), giving users finer control in automatic mode.
Have you tried adjusting the closeup threshold? For extreme close-ups, I’ve found that setting it between +25 and +30 tends to work well. In most cases, this should make the autofocus much more responsive for those tight shots. By default, the setting leans toward a less aggressive configuration to balance the experience across general use cases.

I've also found that combining it with a slight increase in the focal plane distance around +10 can sometimes yield better results.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

damson the threshold setting must be my issue. It worked pretty good before, maybe a little laggy, then one day just boom "crap, they're cyclops' again..." so threshold setting is what triggers the auto focus then?

Ill give that a try though. I had played around with some of the setting in auto focus trying to get it to work, but most seemed to make it blurry vs the older version with the more laggy auto focus. I say laggy, it was just a split second then boom, she's in focus pretty spit on.
