Connection speed is super slow on one pc

My speed is usually around 200mbps and on my other devices the test reflects that.

When doing the slr speed test all my other devices get expected high speeds of 50-200mbps.

My pc is running on the same network and getting around 12mbps. This is only a problem with slr, as other apps download and stream at the expected rates.

I have tried switching to wifi/ethernet, using different browsers, resetting all windows settings but have had no luck so far.

Live booting into linux with a live usb shows good speeds on the same pc so I assume its software related but I can't seem to find the cause.

Running a VPN also drastically improves the speeds to around 40mbps, but still far from what my other devices are getting.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Looks like your OS has some issues. Firewall? Antivirus?

bruce Both turned off. I've done virus scans, reset the network settings and turned off any software that might affect it. Didn't help unfortunately.

Interestingly though, using a VPN helps. I feel like that should be a big clue along with it working fine on other devices, but I can't for the life of me figure it out.

I've checked network settings and made sure OS wasn't throttling my speed, but if it's happening unintentionally I'm not really sure what else to check.

If it's my os throttling my speed there has to be some way to see it.

I think I've ruled out drivers as I get the same speed using wireless adapter as wired and my drivers haven't changed.

Update for anyone that might have a similar issue. The problem was related to some windows settings that wouldn't get fixed/reset properly when resetting the windows network settings/reinstalling drivers for adapters.

I ran "SG TCP Optimizer" which I can only assume accessed those settings and fixed them and the speed is back to normal.

Ran as admin, checked optimal at the bottom, applied changes and restarted when prompted.

Hope this helps someone else having similar problems!
