subzero0 The honest answer is no they are not that bad -
However, if you pay premium prices for a single scene most normal people expect the best quality possible, which has ALWAYS been available from SLR - This will always be an issue until they admit they are wrong that they removed this option - simple as that.
And the delay of the AV1 replacement which is supposed to be better quality than the original source.
Smoke and mirrors as usual
But too be honest get someone to back me up on this and just beware who you trust for that advice on here if you are new. - If i sense the bullshit i will let you know
Good luck mate 🙂
Edit: when i say the 8k files are not that bad - i mean when they are 'Downloaded' and played using a decent player - Streaming is absolute shite for quality, but great for ease of use and AI Passthrough.
Don't stream at 8k, it's a total waste of resources and 4-5k looks just as good - Try it if you don't believe me !
Streaming will probably have issues for at least another 2 years and probably beyond as resolutions increase on headsets
The algorithms they use to compensate for internet speeds or any variarion will always downgrade the image quality to give the best / most reliable image quality due to circumstance with FPS and Bitrate altered accordingly.
Lets face it - you request a stream at 8k - it can ONLY get worse than that highest quality - In almost every case it will be worse - Not only that the file that is used for streaming is possibly a streamlined file for internet compatabilty and defintely not the highest quality file available for the scene
Hence the request for the 'Original Source File' by those who understand this fact
Sorry i probably bored you a bit there - Too much sun 🙂
