In meantime trying to get HBR streaming option in the app
So you can put your 200Mbps internet to work
Talking to the system architect to get higher streaming bitrate
How I imagined this conversation when I read the discussion title:
doublevr It won't increase quality when a studio uploads low quality masters, but it will increase quality when a studio uploads high quality masters. So why not limit HBR to the pro studios that use decent cameras and upload high bitrate files, like SLR Originals, VRSpy, RealJamVR, etc?
doublevr Maybe the guy is right when it comes to typical deovr.com content but high quality VR porn is not 'a typical VR video'. I like the suggestion of @Hairsational to limit HBR streaming to qualified studios for which it actually makes a difference, sounds like a good compromise.
It sounds like a step in the correct direction but there's still the issue of the DeoVR app having a lower resolution or looking less sharp than the PCVR DeoVR app

I'm not sure how easy it is to make PCVR 1:1 with headset native apps

That sounds like a headache to moderate but it would be a good opportunity to enforce studios to share technical specs, camera used, encoding, etc that could then be shown to viewers - it'll also help other studios see what gear / settings look good, the more knowledge the better
doublevr That sounds pretty cool
Ok now this is good news. Like the HBR streaming option!
As long as we got download quality on streaming i'm happy.
Just dont lower your quality standards or make it ppv as its a bad move.
doublevr I think you're overselling it because your new app will be on par with HereSphere's rendering at best. That won't do anything to change the fact that SLR 8K is low quality source material – garbage in garbage out.
