  • Lifetime Subscribers...should you be ignored?

Hello every person that purchased an SLR Lifetime subscription. Did you purchase an SLR Lifetime subscription, when you did, assuming you were entitled to only the services being offered at that time? Or did you assume you were paying a premium so much higher than usual weekly or monthly subscribers because you were investing in a nascent VR porn service, and thus would be entitled to enjoy the developments of that service well into the future? Some forum contributors insist that you deserve nothing more than weekly/monthly subscribers.

From what I have heard, "LT gets you a little star on your user icon and, occasionally, you'll get extra entries into contests, but that's it." Is this what other lifetime subscribers expected when they joined??

I'd love to have some influence over the project roadmap, i.e., proposing features and voting on them. Other than that, maybe being part of an early adopter list to be the first to try out new features. But my main wish would be influence on the roadmap.

...i signed up for life specifically because i believed their in house director VRFanService/OnTheTelly was producing the most original and interesting VR porn i'd ever seen, and i wanted to contribute financially to a studio that supported such innovation. And then a month later they'd been 'let go', and SLR began to focus on PT which is a format i despise.

Despite that, i'm gonna shill for SLR on this and say, yeah, i don't regret the purchase. There's plenty of old stuff with great scripts, enough new stuff released to keep me happy, and even though it can't think it's way out of a paper bag, with the right scene the AI scripts can be very acceptable, so i'm now entertained by much of the amateur stuff, which wouldn't normally have qualified for a script. And it's just going to improve. Plus, there really is a lot of interesting amateur stuff now! i'm beginning to sense a kinda revival in VR porn, and it's grassroots orientated. People are experimenting. Fun times ahead.

i joined SLR for one reason, but many other things convinced me to stay, despite being heartbroken at watching that reason needlessly bite the dust. i'm glad i did, i've encountered much joy since.

To add, i expected porn for life when i signed up, nothing more. Does that sound weird...?

I don't want to seem like an SLR shill, but how much have you paid for a lifetime subscription? These posts got me curious and I went and looked at the price and it's currently $300 for a lifetime subscription. Honestly, I feel that is an insanely good price for just having access to all the premium content, FOREVER. And it's only 3 years of the normal annual price. It's pretty compelling for me (a yearly subscriber) but, well, a lot could happen in 3 years.

I just don't understand the expectations of anything beyond just access to all the videos? I could understand if SLR had some kind of Kickstarter/backer program that helped fund the initial launch of the site. Stuff like that usually comes with benefits for early investors/backers, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Or possibly if you've poured thousands of dollars into helping the site grow. But $300?

Hell, $300 is literally only around 60 hours of minimum wage pay (in the US) AFTER taxes. So, like a week and a half of work for unlimited videos for as long as SLR is around. $300 is practically a drop in the bucket for any tech stuff, especially with how much everything costs nowadays. I mean, how much did you pay for a VR headset? Shit, I'm actually talking myself into a lifetime sub ha, but I'll still wait and see.

I'm not trying to be dismissive but the complaining about this deal comes off incredibly bad and is likely to fall on deaf ears.

Also SLR, please don't read this and decide to raise prices lol 🙏

Why would you expect something extra as a lifetime subscriber? You receive exactly what you paid for, a lifetime membership on the site... Even if the site stops adding new content, you still receive what you signed up for...

I don't understand why anyone with a lifetime would think that they "deserve" something extra compared to those with a monthly/yearly sub...

I feel great about it. For the price of 2-3 years worth of yearly subscriptions i have access to a library of VR porn so large i'll simply never run out of new scenes to watch for as long as the company is around. Not to mention how far ahead of the competition SLR seems to be with their AI scripts.

It's a great bargain as is, i don't expect to have a say in their business choices.

Would be nice to have more BGGG+ scenes though

What's even the problem? Someone didn't text back?

I don't think LT deserves extras. You already get a nice discount that grows the longer you use the site.

It's a simple question of availability to pay now, how long you will be watching porn, and thus the long term value.

        1) Do I have the money to spend on lifetime now such that it will not harm me too much financially if I do so?
        2) Do I plan on jerking off to VR content from the best VR porn site well into the future?

Let's do some quick math (based on current subscription prices as at March 1st, 2025:
        Month to month
        $24.99 / month or $299.88 / yr or $1,499.40 over 5 years

        Yearly
        $8.99 / month or $101.88 / yr or $509.40 over 5 years

        Lifetime
        $299.99 once

Essentially, if you are planning on using SLR fairly continuously for more than 3 years, then yes lifetime is significantly better. I believe I purchased lifetime over 3 years ago.

        To answer your questions exactly:
        1)

As5m0deu5 SLR Lifetime subscription, when you did, assuming you were entitled to only the services being offered at that time?

I assumed I was entitled to services at that time, and all services that would be granted to future lifetime subscribers.

        2)

As5m0deu5 did you assume you were paying a premium so much higher than usual weekly or monthly subscribers because you were investing in a nascent VR porn service, and thus would be entitled to enjoy the developments of that service well into the future?

Not too sure I would consider SLR nascent. As they already displayed current potential, in addition to future potential.

        3)

As5m0deu5 Some forum contributors insist that you deserve nothing more than weekly/monthly subscribers.

Do lifetime subscribers get anything more than weekly/monthly subscribers other than paying less overall and a badge next to their name? Because in reality, the discount is the reward for paying more upfront today. You receive everything that anyone paying monthly / yearly will receive now and in the future...forever.

The risk with a lifetime sub is is that, by paying upfront, you lose your leverage over the company. A monthly sub can tell the company "Please fix this issue or I'm cancelling my sub". A lifetime sub does not have that leverage.

I just don't get some people.

Spidey senses tingling, some sort of manipuluation to take away from Lifetime Subscribers using a pseudonym to spark discussion !

@SchnuppiLilac Mate you're always on the ball, something feels off !

GenericUser3 A monthly sub can tell the company "Please fix this issue or I'm cancelling my sub". A lifetime sub does not have that leverage.

Yeah ... no. If you talk to a team of techs busting their ass to make the site better and say "fix this or im cancelling my sub" they would say cya later. If you can make a clear recommendation, it can apply to more people than you, and benefit people and make the site better, then it will likely happen in time whether you bring it up or not. But your "leverage" attitude would be ignored 100%. I went from monthly to lifetime, you get treated exactly the same, still real life people you are dealing with even if these are just typed words. Just dont be a dick and expect to world to revolve around you.

If 1 person has an issue they want to cancel over, nothing is going to change. It a lot of people make the issue apparent, then it will probably be addressed in some way. That has nothing to do with monthly or lifetime.

sogman It's not about being a dick or having an attitude. I don't think you understand how business works. If you have a serious issue that legitimately prevents you from using the service, you should cancel your sub, or threaten to cancel so they fix the issue ASAP. That's just business. A lifetime sub obviously does not have that leverage - they cannot withhold future payment because they gave away all their money upfront. What they do have is "customer loyalty" which may or may not mean anything depending on the company.

                $299.99 once

                Pretty much my scenario

I've never had a subscription to a porn website before SLR and I wanted to just pay once and not do the annoying "oh fuck I cannot download this video cos my sub expired" dance every few months

The alternative is keeping a sub going forever which is bad financials when a lifetime is available that pays for itself in just a few years 🤷 Peace of mind is invaluable

But now I piss away hundreds of dollars on Stripchat VR live-cams every week, if SLR had a better interface and saved privates i'd do it here instead!

GenericUser3 Go ahead and "withhold your payment" then. If there is a legit issue, it will be adressed. Also you must be new here, lifetime pays for itself in 3 years. This site has been up since like 2018? Not sure why you are complaining. They have had a pretty good track record and no other site has this inbedded feature of passthrough or AI scripts allowed with their subscriptions unless you want to spend way more than SLR charges. Like a lot more montly total. You arent making a great point here.

But again, an issue prohibiting users from using the site is something that would effect everybody equally, not just lifetime users. A website would go under if there was such an issue so something would be corrected.. this site did not just pop up yesterday

But it doesnt matter because your view is just such a drastic and dramatic way to look at things. The chances of something that catastrophic happening within a 3 year timespan (the cost of lifetime vs monthly paid, what we are talking about in the first place) is so unlikely, I dont even know why you are complaining about it. Some people like to sign up once, instead of being a slave to monthly subscriptions for everything in life. Instead of complaining, why dont you just sign up for SLR lifetime, nobody cares about sombodys "leverage opinions"

Bro where we find all their content they released here on sir, and are they still producing?

After more than one year of nothing a new scene was added to the toilet channel just the other day which made me wonder whether he's becoming active again. But apart from that very niche project I don't think there is anything else.
