Ilistourhat I use it exactly as it is intended. And over time the adapter degrades and does not hold the connection such that it loses power, even if temporarily, which obviously causes it to lose connection with the app. I'm not the only one that has posted about this.

mark6139 I'm not the only one that has posted about this.
Like how many, 2... 100? Ive never seen anyone post about this, so its not a thing. Im around quite a bit. The handy uses a standard steel barrel type connector, it does not simply "degrade with time." and it for sure is not going to fail 3x since the relatively short amount of time the handy has been on the market. Pulling on the powercord while inserted may bend a barrel, and cause a loss of connection. But this is user error; its not going to degrade with time.
Recently users have been posting about loss of connectivity mid-use, but this has to do with the v4.0 update firmware issues which have not yet be addressed by the handy team. It has nothing to do with a power connection

Im only hesitant to pre-order because I do not know if this is committing me to anything beyond a discount at time of purchase.
mark6139 i've had mine for almost 3 years and the adapter has literally never fallen out on it's own. Did you get your Handy directly from the handy website or did you use a 3rd party website? The very first Handy i bought i used Amazon and they basically sold me a refurbished unit packaged as if it was new and it broke within the first week. After that i used the official Handy website and that one has been working perfectly for years.
mark6139 ...i have visions of you literally suspending it from the charging cord or something to achieve that! Jesting aside, that's some seriously bad luck, maybe secure the cable against the Handy with a rubber band, so there's no strain on the port, and the cable is exiting from your arrangement in a less vulnerable direction...
Does it have "two-axis right from the start" as said back in 2022?
...i seem to remember that the answer is no, but that they're considering adding a twist for the second iteration...
@doublevr Hi, super excited about this ...
Is it going to be USB C charging?
Can you confirm that the BT with the Q3 will work well? (Keon & Handy BT on the Q3 sucks bigtime)
Thx
renstimpy11 it's usb-c. Primarily wifi in mind.
doublevr OK great news about usb-c. Please make the BT work well with the Quest 3... so many variables with wifi...
I really hope this product can be used without the need for a cell phone or cell phone app, and that it can connect directly to computer software via USB, not Bluetooth. Do you plan on creating your own software for PC in the future? I don't have a cell phone, but I'm very interested in the product. I think it would be a great idea to consider, as I believe many people would prefer it. Most people want to use their computers rather than relying on a cell phone app. The cell phone thing will be a deal breaker for me. Thank you!
Will it connect with a Bluetooth dongle?
Melody's control will be via BLE, which will work in parallel with WiFi and you can simply disable BLE in the device settings if you don't need it.This will all be described in the API and SDK (BLE SDK is a smaller version of WiFi SDK. WiFi SDK has more methods), a little patience and we'll release a status update soon, but I'll say it straight - things are going very cool!
ToyboyPM i dont have wifi i use a hardline. will it come with a dongle? am i out of luck? :[
i dont use a cell phone or wifi, Is it going to be a solution for people like me?
@ToyboyPM you seem to be the one to talk to about this ... concerning the BT connection on your Melody device, I have some feedback as I have tested the Keon & Handy's BT alot.
The Handy - WiFi works well, when its not "Disconnecting", which seems to happen at least once every time I try to use it. This is why I prefer BT, but the experience of the scripts seems to be much less accurate (missing strokes every few seconds) via BT on the Handy.
The Keon - BT direct connection on Q3 via DeoVR app works ok, but again the experience of the scripts seems to be much less accurate (missing strokes every few seconds).
The best BT Keon experience by far is to connect via the Haptics Connect App via phone app. This gives perfectly synced scripts with no missing strokes when paired with the Q3.
Also, as a side issue, the Keon connects to local scripts via BT with Heresphere with perfect playback... so not sure if the Heresphere dev is using different BT connection or what.
Back to the new Melody, wifi is great... when it works. But there are just too many variables to ever get a foolproof device via wifi.
Please try to make the direct BT connection on the Q3 an awesome experience.
Thx
