Passthrough Beginners Guide help ?

Recently purchased Meta 3s for passthrough and I'm disappointed 😞
I was hoping it would be better, what can I do to make the passthrough experience better?
I'm a novice so any help would be appreciated 👍

Are you sure you are doing it right?
If you go to scenes with a grey background, the passthrough should be absolutely flawless.

Redhulk50 the first issue is purchasing a 3s instead of a 3. Pass through and video quality is less. 3s does not use pancake lenses.

I don’t think you need to jump to an AVP. It’s too expensive. The Q3, I’m very happy with the PT results.

Redhulk50 Your expectations might have been over hyped because of the people that love it.
I also don't think it is that great. It can be at moments but I find myself spending to much time missing with the angles to line everything up. Floating dicks, the girl looks too big, the girl looks too small, the girl is lit up way to bright for everything else in my room.
It's a lot of work for 5 minutes of watching before they change to a position that I'm not going to get up for.

rerun119 I believe it's great and the future. Sometimes you have to tweak a few settings, but it's still early. Lots of potential.

rerun119 Yes your spot on , some passthrough scenes look ok while others are just too much hassle to line up and get it looking ok , I was hoping that the standing scenes where the model bends over would be good but a lot of the times the model floats into the air and what really pisses me off is when the male actor touches the breasts or ass and spoils it .
Also some passthrough scenes make the model look cartoony .

Meta PT is currently far from as good as Meta advertises it.

Some updates have already improved it significantly since launch, but you can still clearly tell that you're looking at a camera image. Technically, this is not achievable any differently with the cameras currently built into the device. The PT you see in YouTube videos is a compressed file, which always looks better than the actual image in the HMD itself. YouTubers who don't openly address this have been causing a lot of confusion among first time consumers since the launch.

yeah, there is a lot of room for improvement, but usually the real issue is too little light. Those camera's need A LOT of light to be at their best. Much more then you get from normal house lamps. Try it in the sun, still think it's crap? Then wait for something better, maybe the Samsung android headset that will release soon, AVP will be properly supported at some point I guess but I wouldn't buy it.
