doublevr Out of curiosity do you know if SLR will offer higher res files like 16k for AVP? (And future capable headsets). It would be a shame to go to all the trouble of using the fancy camera and then only offering downsampled (even if downsampled 16k to 8k looks better than 8k native). Also rumor is AVP will have an m4 version soon, which would support AV1. Then you have Samsung Moohan in the Winter, next Meta 2026 (with a puck and higher res), etc. etc.

harigeharry Yeah and if SLR is going to release 16K files, will those be behind a double paywall? So not free for paying members?

Personally I'd prefer an additional membership instead of paying per file. It kinda takes the fun out of it if you have to pay per file.

harigeharry I'm one of those stupid addicts that will pay to see the best (in this hypothetical case, high bitrate 16k files) regardless provided it's not priced like gold. But hopefully there's not enough people like me to go around and support a per-file-charge-system.

My guess would be they charge big to start as most everyone buying 16k files are the 9 AVP users on here, lol. Then it comes down in pricing model overtime.

Or they could be kind and just post the file, considering it an infrastructure investment pulling in customers slowly overtime.

Ventriloquist_Tacos anything will be better than what vrbangers tried to do with their "12k" scenes. They had 2 and they seemed to have chosen some of the worst models they could find for them

I like how people are actively giving SLR ideas and indirect suggestions to charge more for 16k files, why dont you also suggest they continue to reduce the download limits and number of scenes they release per week while you are at it haha oh and dont forget to suggest they increase their subscription pricing all around as well

doublevr sure that sounds great, also add financing options to plans at ridiculous interests rates while you are at it hahaha

SchnuppiLilac dont worry thats just the start. Like their hero once said "You will own nothing and be happy"

Well on the one hand, I'm member of about 8 VR sites I think and none of them offer the Studio master files. Most file sizes are between like 10gb and 20gb. Nowhere the size of the original files that SLR offers. So I can understand that SLR charges extra for those. But the current price is just too steep IMHO, no way I will pay $13 PER VIDEO on top of my subscription, that just feels like they're sticking their dicks up my ass and that's not something I enjoy.

I believe in free markets though, hopefully others will start offering higher quality free of charge (or at least at a way lower extra price). And if not, maybe we should think about starting our own studio LOL.

What already would feel more fair to me is if they would just use gb's as download counter instead of number of files. So instead of downloading 30 files of 10 gb, you could get 5 files of 60 gb if you'd prefer that. Without extra charge. And then just pay per gb extra that you download. If file hosting costs is the problem, this would at least feel much more fair.

harigeharry That scene displaying $12.99 is a WankzVR scene, not an SLR Original ! Most WankzVR scenes are this price... I assume SLR scenes will stay at the current rate of $6.99

It's hilarious but in a sad way, it's like those people that when arrested starting having a casual conversation with cops during an interrogation without realising they are screwing themselves over 🙄

Once upon a time, SLR wanted to be unique and offer more for less in order to gain marketshare. Now they have a sizeable amount of users, they can start charging for things that used to be free - common tactic when it comes to new companies entering a market..

Finding a company that doesn't do this is pretty rare cos capitalism goes brrrr

just a question, why do you guys care about downloads that much?
for me, I would rather if SLR increases their video streaming bitrate to be honest.

I don't recall when the last time I downloaded a porn video.
long ago in the early 2000s, I was all about buying porn DVDs.
I ripped these DVDs long ago as well, like in late 2015 on my laptop.

this laptop died lately, and I transferred these files to my quest 3 internal storage just to watch them for the last time on deovr big virtual screen.

but I'll delete these files too once I'm done with them because I found most of them on porn sites that can be watched legally for free.

because they are old classic / vintage films, and to my surprise many of them have higher quality than my ripped ones, called AI upscaling thingy.

I can watch them on quest browser in immersive/theater mode. so there's no point in keeping them.

I downloaded some SLR videos to my laptop before it died in my early days to test and learn some stuff about quality differences. and yes these high bitrate files have better quality, but is it really worth the struggle?

I would rather if SLR have a plan with high bitrate streaming like 50 to 60mbps and without any kind of download with good price for everyone to benefit. from SLR to content creators to customers.

filgan just a question, why do you guys care about downloads that much?

Files that are available online today are not guaranteed to be available online tomorrow, the internet's been that way since it's inception

Same goes for Netflix, YouTube, SLR, everywhere

Speaking of SLR specifically, there have been hundreds if not thousands of videos that were available but are no longer, here's a thread where they now list what's leaving: https://forum.sexlikereal.com/d/8146-content-updates

So if you have a favourite scene, you should definitely download it

Just look at the USA banning porn in some states, what's the next step there?

What happens if tomorrow the card processing networks decide to ban lesbian porn or BG porn? They have already banned a lot of things like incest roleplay, alcohol/drug props, etc

jommy yes. these are convincing points. you're right.
hmm. maybe I'm getting old or something. lol

I mean, I mostly watch the scene twice, maybe 3 times if it's that good, but then I move on to newer releases and so on. this is why if I download it, there's a slim chance I'll see it again with all these new contents.

ha! that's reminds me of my gaming days with steam! I was buying new games at discounts but most of them I never touched! I ended up giving them for free with my gaming desktop I sold. lol.

yeah, I think I'm the kind of person who doesn't want to keep anything and be concerned with it. lol. maybe that's why. but I'm very convinced with this. it's hard to explain, I hope you can understand me.

for me, it's just watch new stuff and move on to newer ones and so on. I feel like I have a lot of time to invest in many other things and hobbies.

yet again, your points are solid. can't argue with these facts.

many thanks again man. very respectful! 🙂

                  filgan

Some days I wish I could be a watch and forget kinda person, it would save me a lot of money on hard drives!

But after being on the internet for decades i've learnt it's safer for me to just save the thing I liked rather than risk losing it forever 😆 Data storage is so cheap these days, especially refurbished
