  • ***Cyber Truck Give Away Competition***

  • [deleted]

I'm Curious.

I am a legal resident of the USA as per the terms and conditions.
i am currently working on business in the United Kindom.
i've subscribed for a year whilst im here in the UK and was told i had been alotted tickets automatically to the draw.
i'm assuming I got enetered into the draw? I'm also assuming due to the subscription be bought in the UK being a usa resident fits the bill? and isnt automatically ignored due to purchase location??

Rules are rules.. you have a 1 in a billion chance of winning anyway, no sense putting too much effort into arguing it. If you win, great.. then figure out if they can get you the prize.. if not, next person gets it.

        not arguing
        just asking politely.

if i win i win. its the participation that i paid a year subscription to support a great site that counts.

I am wondering what I am going to say to the wife and kids when a cybertruck shows up at my door.
Oh yeah, I won this via my porn subscription!!

I will take the cash option so at least I can "launder" the money into our regular family accounts without anyone noticing.

Also - for the competition - is there a limited length of the "name" I choose for the video? Could I, for example, name myself "Please-shop-at-joes-lightly-used-furniture-indianapolis"

legal residents of the 48 contiguous U.S. States (excl. NY, FL, AK & HI) & DC, age of majority or older.

I dont know what your question is. They literally tell you who you need to be to win. It doesnt matter if you order it while visiting the moon and own 10 homes across the world; if you are a legal resident of the US (which you say you are) and are of age, then they will simply ask you to verify this. You can accept the car or a cash prize and when you return from the moon you will have a car in your driveway that they had ordered and delivered to you.

Btw, everyone uses a vpn, so I may have signed up for slr while I was in "central africa" but I live in the USA. Nobody would know you are in the UK if you hadnt said so and it would not matter if you think about it

Note the highlighted portion of the contest rules. Again.

I think it would be a stretch for someone living in the UK to claim that they are "located" in the 48 contiguous US states--unless they traveled back at the nebulous "time of entry".

[deleted] Unfortunately that's the way it is. If you say anything that is against the interests of SLR your posts will be indiscriminately deleted. I've had several posts deleted before and if I even so much as asked why, I've almost always been immediately banned for "arguing with a mod" or other similar nonsense reasons.

Some things are better discussed elsewhere.

It feels like how those Youtube influencers would say they were giving away cars to people that liked their videos on all there platforms. They would get thousands of people to like videos on multiple apps but never give a car away. Nobody did anything about it other than the internet figuring it out. It smells very fishy.

...according to this bit in the rules (in bold):

'11. Notification & Validation of Winners: Potential winners, at Promotion Administrator’s discretion, will
each be contacted by telephone, email, regular mail or overnight mail, and may be required to
complete, sign and return an affidavit or declaration of eligibility, a liability release, tax forms, and
where lawful, a publicity release within a stated amount of time as a condition to receive any prize.
The return of any notification as undeliverable or failure to respond to notices or return any required
documents or information in a timely manner or a determination that a potential winner is ineligible or
not in compliance with these Official Rules, as determined by the Promotion Administrator, in its sole
and absolute discretion, may result in disqualification and forfeiture of any prize without further notice
and the selection of an alternate winner in a random drawing from among the remaining eligible
          entries.
          '

If the winners don't respond, then the prizes need to be rolled again. Also, by inference, as:

'19. The winners’ list will be available after winner validation has been completed.'

And i can see a winners list, can i assume that all the winners have been validated, and that literally only two headsets have been claimed so far, that pretty much the entire allocation of prizes needs to be re-rolled?

As i live in the UK i don't give a monkey's, i can't win anything anyway, but i'm genuinely curious wtf is going on with that list, if it's not complete, why has it been published...?

          Let's move on.

The contest has been completed following all the procedures. There are other things to do.
