So, this was really brought to light with the recent event where I actually ventured into the Cams category to try this out, but sadly, it was just tech troubleshooting with no resolution.

So my setup was Handy + DeoVR through steam with an Index - connected via wifi. Scripts work flawlessly, and it will say 'Connected' while in a cam show as well (and the model can see you being connected) but the toy won't respond at all. The only time I got it responding was when I simultaneously had the same room open in a browser and connected handy via BT to that room - but never really working for longer than 5 seconds, just constant disconnections into not allowing reconnect.

So am I missing something here (because surely this has been tested prior to launching an event focusing on the feature)? Is it supposed to be bluetooth only (and if so why) and if not - why doesn't it work via wifi?

There were multiple people in the chat with the exact same issue. Sad use of 150 tokens (non-refundable, of course) as I was really looking forward to trying out the cam section together with this feature specifically.

gillon hi, thank you for your feedback, we will look into it.
The feature is Bluetooth only, yes.
Did you try playing scripts with your Handy connected via Bluetooth and it worked with no issues, correct? It is only in cams session that it was failing?

Kieshi No, the scripts comment were only wifi use, that works flawlessly.

BT connectivity in general seemed shoddy via browser, so I would assume the issue would be similar for scripts - but I haven't tested via app if it's been introduced there as well.

Also, is there a reason for it being bluetooth only? And why does it say 'Connected' (and according to the model I was showing up as well) when using wifi in Cams mode?

gillon just to make sure, while in cams stream, you were using browser VR Player - webxr hub - correct?

BT only is current technical limitation.

Kieshi I was using DeoVR with headset for "visual" and then connecting via BT to whatever the native browser player is. But the connection kept dropping after a few seconds, and once it had dropped I received errors trying to reconnect.

          6 months later

Is this still something that's being developed? Any way to see models that support it?

gillon it will get a boost with upcoming SLR melody sex toy being integrated with can services

gillon Thanks for asking. We're doing our best to stick to the timeline, we're currently targeting Fall '25, but to make sure you don't miss anything you can leave a mail through the pre-order and you'll be one of the first to receive news about Melody. There won't be many emails.
