How to play Vids from an Ext. HDD via DeoVR on my Quest 2

How can i play my VR Vids from an Ext HDD on my Quest 2?
I try this now since almost 2 Years without any success?

I need a Step-by-Step manuell and if possible in German, that would help me a lot, cause i understand only a bit english and if it goes for technical expanations in englöish, i'm lost

FritzGerlach There are several options to do this over Wifi, depending on how you are equipped and your preferences. Since not every player supports all the options: Which player would you like to use for this?

If you are used to DeoVR and want to stick with it, you can make it work. If your external HDD is connected to a Windows 10 or 11 PC, you might just need to activate the built-in DLNA server.

FritzGerlach install deovr steam
install meta quest app on your computer
use cable to connect to your computer
when connect to your computer enable quest link https://www.meta.com/help/quest/articles/headsets-and-accessories/oculus-link/set-up-link/
launch deovr when in quest link
go to local folder and on the left find the disk with files
play

Recommend you get a VR media player for external HDD, network and NAS files.
DeoVR is good for streaming but not local files.

PigasusVR and Skybox VR are both quite good at this and are proven players for SLR's fisheye videos.
Both are available in the Meta Store.

I use Heresphere for this, it supports SMB & DNLA sharing from local network. Also supports scripts.

Download and launch XBVR. Connect your headset and computer to the same WiFi network. Visit the generated url in Deovr. (Something like 92.168.1.1:9999) and stream wirelessly from your computer.

Manny_S That's the Way i try it now for 2 Years, but it doesn't work. I can see the created DLNA Folder on my Q2 in DeoVR, but the Folder is always empty. I gave the Q2 access for the Folder on my PC, but it won't work

Hi @FritzGerlach we would suggest checking the connection settings on your PC, as it appears there is an issue on the Windows side blocking access.
