Let me clarify. The goal is to enhance the realism of the passthrough experience, making it feel as though the model is truly in the same room as the user, rather than just a digital overlay.
Lighting conditions in SLR videos can vary greatly, especially with videos converted using AI Passthrough. The most realistic experience occurs when the model matches the lighting of your own room. While we currently have Hue and Saturation sliders, adding full white balance control through a color temperature slider and a tint slider (green/magenta) would significantly improve the ability to adjust passthrough videos to the user's room lighting.
Now, why do I ask for film grain sliders?
When the user is in dimly lit room, the camera feed can appear grainy. We can address this by adding sliders for film grain size and intensity, allowing users to match the model film grain with the camera feed. It might seem counter intuitive to reduce the quality of the model this way, but it actually makes the model look like she is in your room, being captured by your Quest 3 cameras.
I am actually surprised this hasn't been added earlier considering it's not a technically hard thing to do, and the benefit for passthrough immersion would be immense. I cross my fingers.
