Hairsational that’s the fucking point - a small number of people who primarily download are the worst churn and give you the most trouble.
There’s a 98% difference of 25 downloads a month and no downloads. No downloads has never been an option, nor loyal customers are going to see much of a limit change.

Largly disappointed from SLR this year. I joined last year with a yearly membership during an insane hot streak of scenes. Don't like the direction of the new Euro PT studio. If I wanted euro chicks I would go to Virtual Real porn. I don't mind the occasional euro actress like Jia Lissa or Lilly Bella but outside of that not interested at all. SLRO haven't peaked my interest since Anna Claire Clouds and Lexi Luna, literally have only been waiting for the Chloe Temple scene. The only value I find at SLR that I can't find anywhere else is their custom and AI scripts. I don't know how but SLR AI scripts are better than other AI scripts being offered anywhere else. The ease of use in setting up and connecting your sex toy is unmatched atm. Really, it's the only thing keeping my subscription ATM bc it's just too good with the catalog of old scenes on the site. Even if I don't renew my yearly subscription I will still be holding onto the scripts and probably just buy each scene individually that I like bc so far this year the amount of scenes that I actually go back to, I could count on 1 hand.
Hairsational Clearly you didn't see the backlash when VRB removed the download button from their website. ...VRB didn't remove downloads. They removed the download button from the website and moved it to their app.
There was really no need to hit me with those. I already gave my opinion in other threads dedicated to that topic.
It didn't really bother me when they moved the download button to their app; it's their business. What bothered me the most was when they removed the 6k/8k streaming options from the site, and I found myself with no other option other than having to use that stupid app to watch their content. But it's fine for me now since I got the download button back on the site using that extension.

Regarding the downloads, I'm fine with the current video limits (scripts at 3 definitely not), but stop changing it all the time, make up your mind and stick with it. People pay expecting X limits during their sub, changing continuously is not a proper way to do business.

You have a service you are selling to people. This is different than giving something away to people.
If you want SLR to be the #1 one-stop-shop for VR porn, as you market your site as, you're going to need to produce (or acquire through partnerships) a ton of scenes that make a ton of people with different tastes happy. You're marketing SLR as something it isn't, so when it fails to live up to what people were sold they are going to complain.
I like SLR, its fine for what it is, and that's why I pay you for the service. But objectively, it is worse than it was 2-3 years ago. SLROriginals have far less variety and fewer releases than before. There have also been many high quality studios, who offered that extra variety, no longer posting scenes here. The technical stuff like passthrough is fine, but ultimately the draw for porn is the scenes and SLR, for the most part, just produces content in a very narrow field of taste.
I voted worse but thats speaking objectively to the having less scenes per month and other studios leaving or being lax in their updates.
Of course the more scenes the better.
But from a value proposition this site has the most VR videos out there already. Has new features which other studios don't.
I liken SLR to netflix of VR. Studios will leave but its up to SLR to I guess fill that gap in value, which is to potentially release even more videos.
From technology perspective they are lightyears ahead. To me at least, I love the passthrough AI feature, its hard for me to go back to non passthrough. This will only get even better with time.
They will even release a feature like SLR Drive so you can watch scenes from other studios privately in passthrough AI.
Their content has slowed but thats to be expected, there will be ups and downs.
So for me the answer to this question comes down to what do you value.
If you care about straight up amount of releases, than its objectively worse as there are less releases. but that will change as they get back to par.
But for me personally the passthrough AI feature combined with there already large library, they are head and soldiers better than their competitors.
SLR has been killing it on the features lately. The AI passthrough and the new improved version which also has dick in out and the JAV scripts are amazing additions on the already amazing script support and regular passthrough scenes. That alone sets them apart from the competition imo. It's also the main reason why it suck so much when a site leaves this platform as it won't have these features anymore.
Anyways, I do miss the epic threesomes and more frequent truly standout scenes scenes this site used to have a lot more. I guess content wise it's probably the weakest period for SLR in all the years I have had my sub. However, even now I like the content better than the competition. I think POVR especially has gotten super bland. VR Bangers will never see me again because of the download bullshit and the other sites where always sidenotes for me. On SLR there is still plenty fun things coming out especially considering that I having a blast going back to all those old favourites now with AI passthrough and also the JAV + Passthrough AI + AI scripts is a whole new territory.
So, all in all, I'm definitely happy with SLR BUT I hope they can get back to more of those standout scenes and epic 3somes/4somes etc. Still think SLR is in a bit of a transition phase there with the firing of a few of the directors in short succession, etc. so I'm optimistic

So the part about "as they get back to par" has been a pretty long wait for me. On the Telly left over a year ago. Mack left over 7 months ago. I didn't really like Mack but I am just saying.
So we have been down to Nash only for over 7 months and he has given in to formula porn. Formula porn = boring porn
The AI scripts are great. I just don't understand why with only one regular scene a week. SLR doesn't make it an epic scene. SLR should have the time and money to do it if other companies can put out 3 or 4 scenes a week.
Spazzer26 I agree, been disappointed with the content and the content amount for a while now. But their AiI scripts and integration in the app, ease of use is by far their biggest differentiator between them and competitors. Frankly the main reason they are my primary site. I was disappointed with the loss of several studios as well, vrbangers, swallow at, etc.. but really the biggest loss with these studios is not having easy access to scripts for their scenes. I had a lifetime to vrbangers but would always use slr cause scripts. Now it’s a pita to use their scenes with scripts.
So im like the complete opposite of you. I Don't use the scripts (even though i have the handy and everything, I like the PT, I also like formulaic, as I know the same positions, with the same quality will be there.
I agree on the amount of scenes, but like they have already stated they are in a transition period. Ya 7 months is long, but other than speaking up and mentioning, they have heard, they know, they said they are working on it. How fast they do it is out of our control.
I feel your pain with the sites that left, if someone of my fav producers left it would suck, but in the end the only thing that we really can do, is go to the producers, buy a sub, go on their forums and speak out.
Funny thing we see with producers leaving is that it never impacts new users acquisition or retention trends, but cash distribution within premium creators. And VRB got three times in and out which is direct competitor to SLR Originals. It's in producers best interest to take the most of SLR money. Most of VR sales is coming from new users that never heard of olds producers.
Anyway. If we want to scale the market we have to bring new cool stuff on top of vr180 everyone is filming.
That's why the app, sex toys, cams and passthrough are our top priorities. 6DOF comes next along with super engaging smartphone app that should also give you full control of everything you watch in vr.
When it comes to production directors pool is the biggest limiting factor. There aren't many who can make sense of VR filmmaking providing you guys cool weekly updates on a regular basis.
The only reason we ever got into production was because no one was doing it right and we've made it like no one else. We are on a constant look out for new cool directors and production ideas. Keep bringing it up.
What we've learned so far is we don't want to do generics like everyone else is doing.

Most new users, and even regular users, don't engage in discussions or give feedback in the comment sections. I was the same, just browsing the feed, picking what I wanted to watch, and never thinking about making requests in forums or sharing my opinion. So, many new users have no idea about what's coming or the changes in what they're paying for. Some scenes get like 5k likes, and that's only counting those who click the reaction button, not the ones who just watch.

About the phones, they shouldn't be just about controlling what we watch in VR. A phone and a VR box are a great introduction for anyone who never tried VR porn before. I remember using this method to watch scenes for almost two years from 2017 to 2019 before I finally decided to get a headset. It's the cheapest way to watch VR, all you need is one VR Box and a Remote that connects to phone via bluetooth and doesn't do much but can recenter the view and jump forward and backward. RIP NAVR was my first subscription. I remember using the 'VR Theater' phone app to watch those scenes

...so maybe one day SLR learn how to capture a 3D video of an [insert anything you want], using multiple cameras say, and then use that location fixing on the Q3 to place her where you want in your home, with perfect perspective, VAM level fuckery with real people. Or produce a haptic device with twice the power of a Handy, but even more connectable. Or figure out how to get CAM girls to wank you off in real time. Or run multiple scripts from the same headset, no need for Buttplug.io, etc. Or make a game that's essentially easy mode VAM for headsets. Or something else, go on, surprise me!
That's why i'm still here. Yeah, i got real mad when VRFanService left, and at other times when content went walk about, but i've never run a porn studio before, and i honestly can't say i'd have done any better. The business sounds incredibly cut-throat, people crash and burn all the time, it literally kills people, destroys lives, and despite all that SLR are still here, still innovating, still looking to the future.
Obviously i want more content, sumptuous, scripted, two hour BGG+ productions, with a decent plot, and intense emotional engagements. That's my thing, i like my total immersion. Hopefully a decent director will step up to help produce them, i now understand how bloody difficult it is to find such a person, VR is a niche, and hard to shoot in. Incidently, i really liked Nash's last video, where we got Polish lessons, that was an interesting way to engineer engagement. It's just unfair to expect one chap to do everything, i'll just keep holding out for another director to emerge to help carry the load.
SLR has changed, it would be crass to deny it. As has been pointed out, we've had the 'golden age' of VR porn, peeps have seen it, done it, and gone back to watching the actual thing they like in 2D. In that respect, it's easier to think of VR porn as a fetish in its own right. For example, i don't give a flying fuck about vanilla porn in 2D, but in VR i enjoy it thoroughly. They are not the same thing. One is not an upgrade of the other. The way in is not the way out, etc. And SLR is still forging ahead, despite the drama, and dick heads like me ranting and raving on occasion, so i'm actually very optimistic about the future.
Just please don't wipe the back catalogue, it's your crown jewels, and please please please don't let handcrafted scripts become subsumed by AI ones, is all i'd ask at this point...x
