Does streaming from SLR have the same bitrate as downloading?

If I'm using my Oculus Quest 3 and streaming from SLR, does it have the same bitrate if I downloaded the videos and watch them locally? (ie. using DeoVR/Heresphere, etc)

Yes, it's the exact same file. The only exception is if ypu are downloading the "original" version, which isn't available for streaming.

The original is the highest quality, correct? (similar to a Bluray disc having a much higher bitrate than streaming)

Is it also safe to assume that all of the versions (8k/4k, h.265/h.264) are re-encodes from the original file?

I would be surprised if there wasn't some quality loss in streaming. Depending on the quality of the path between the user and SLR, I would assume there would be either some dynamic tuning, some packet loss, or a combo.
However, running locally hosted vids can also be degraded depending the setup.

So I would say it depends.

fuccaneer App and headset choice matter too because there can be a lot of quality loss in the rendering pipeline and optics

Hi there, streaming videos are compressed using variable bitrate, compared to the constant ones on the downloaded. This tech did advance a lot, and even higher resolutions show no loss in visual quality.
