  • Deo VR freezes after a session of watching VR videos on DLNA on DeoVR app.

Hi SLR Team,

I normally download videos and watch them over DLNA in the DeoVR app.
I have been facing this recurrent issue where after a small session watching videos from my PC over DLNA(I use default windows media streaming), If I try to click on the folder icon(beside settings icon, see pic) or even the back button B, it navigates to my DLNA folder screen correctly and then just freezes(even the quest hand controller pointer). I have a hunch that it happens whenver the watching session is long or if the current video is heavy(8k, high bitrate, etc).
I assumed this to only happen on my windows PC, so I tried the same DLNA setup on my windows Laptop, but the same issue happens again.
This reduces when after watching part of a video, I jump back to the start of video, pause it and then click on the folder icon. It isn't fool proof, but this works sometimes.
And normally when the screen freezes, I'd have to close the DeoVR app explicitly, then relaunch the app after about a 5-10 second pause. If I relaunch the app right away, then the quest main bar disappears and and nothing happens as though the app is trying to run. Hence the 5-10 second wait.

If DLNA isn't the recommended approach to watch from locally stored VR vids on PC/Laptop, please suggest the correct setup.

FYI: I use a Quest 3.

Hey @alphaRonaldo, can you please open a support ticket following this link. The team got back to me with the information that this is a known issue and they're looking into it.

    Thank you!

VelvetEcho Hey, thanks for sharing this. I have raised the ticket as requested.

Can you also provide a timeline as to when this can get fixed or if this is even on priority as I have been facing this app issue for about 3 months atleast? And if this was a known issue, it should have been on priority I believe. I assumed it would get fixed in future updates but since it didn't, I raised this post.

alphaRonaldo Hey, thank you for creating the ticket, appreciate it.

As for the timeline, unfortunately, I cannot provide it nor can I speak about the prioritisation of the issues by the team.
