I am not technical enough to understand video encoding. I have already looked up the forum for an answer, it seems that H.265 is better than H264, but videos at the same level may still differ in bitrate. According to some fellow: "The smaller files have bitrates of max. 30 Mbps, while the 'original' can go up to 200 Mbps" (https://forum.sexlikereal.com/d/5337-what-is-different-about-h265-8k-and-original-8k/4). Does it mean that the original still has better quality even if it is in H264, but the size of the H264 file is significantly bigger?
So take this (https://www.sexlikereal.com/scenes/hardcore-directors-cut-while-waiting-for-your-treatment-38299?tab=downloads) as an example:
- for better quality: should I go for 6K h.265, 4.65GB or ORIGINAL 6K h.264, 15.33GB?
- or H265 encoding practically gives no-worse quality I should just go for H265 no matter what?
