With VR passthrough, we have not even scratched the surface on what kind of crazy things are possible. One thing that I would like to see is the addition of special effects to passthrough to create unique fantasy experiences. We've already seen some level of special effects with SLR AR titles and graphics.
Some examples of what I mean:
- Ritual summoning a succubus into you room through a magic pentagram on the floor
- Liquid terminator morphing one model into another mid-scene
- Shifting an AR scene into a VR scene that has a unique background to give you the sensation you've been taken somewhere else.
I think there are all sorts of crazy things that can be done with AR effects.
