Quest 3 laying aka "masturbation" mode
- Edited
Discussing it within the team
The lying mode wont be bringing anything new to our app though as it is intended for quality of life improvement for the OS in general. Basically the gripe and issues that people have, is that the OS disregard the users orientation as they move between apps. For example they started off from the home screen lying down , they can press the home button and orient themselves to whichever angle they like, while in the home screen they can move their UIs and menu around comfortably with their current viewing position and angle. Then when they try to run another app, they have to reset and realign their view once again to accommodate to their preferred view from before into the newly ran app.
With the lying mode on, it will remember the current orientation and position of the viewer and apply the pose/world orientation to the app that the user would try to run next. This way the UI and orientation of the user will be accurate to the apps orientation/view. Even better, when the user closes the app it will also remember the pose/world orientation of the user from the app and apply it back to the home screen. Creating a seamless transitions between experience.
DeoVR app is loaded nicely facing the user's view on the QuestPRO as opposed to the Quest3 which upon load just set the UI at the default zero pose.
Most masturbators , especially using toys with mounts would really find this helpful. They can start their session fully on position from the beginning till then end without having to adjust their positions. Trying to adjust yourself while on a dildo/fleshlight mount or raised harness are often not favorable
Sounds interesting, sounds like it would take awat my one or two ab crunches I do a day lol
I normally lay down, put headset on and open deo from here I always gave do like an ab crunch to grab the recenter icon and drang the menu up to eye level, be nice if it stayed in my laying position eye view, but honestly it's not that big of a problem.
Wgat I hate is for years YouTube don't have no tilting or zooming for vr 180, I think I heard they added it on avp. Real annoying trying to watch them beach walking videos laying down in YouTube app.
Lol
"Quest 2 and Quest Pro headsets more comfortably wear their devices while lying down"
We been doing that tho, since gearvr
And the bedmode i heard it not available for the q3

Exactly this. YouTube's VR support is laughable. I would be spending ages in it if I could just tilt the videos and zoom in so I could lay down and immerse myself.
