et232man Does anyone have both a Pico4 and a Q3 for a comparison?
I have both, I was using my Pico 4 as my main headset to watch pass through, only reason I bought it was because of pt cuz I had a q2 but its got that gray background, i had fun tho using it with pt 👍
But I wanted sum color so I thought Pico 4 would be great, It was but like you say your environment looks bigger then normal so it just looks off, and the grain on the pass through is kinda to much grain, I would always have to aim my lamp towards my way so it could get decent pass-through light, it was OK I had fun with the Pico and pt, one thing that help me was adding horizontal off set by clicking the + to make the image look same size as the Pico pass through. That helped sum. Pico 4 compared to my q2 you can tell Pico 4 pt looks bigger and in the q2 it looks normal size but in gray.
Fast forward to me getting the q3, I knew q3 would be better then the pico 4, if the scale size looks normal size in the q2 then q3 should be the same, I was hoping 🤞 then I got the q3 and now I rarely ever use the Pico 4 for pt vids. I still use it tho when my q3 dead I use p4 for the vr videos, it's a great headset.
But yes imo the quest 3 pt is better then the Pico 4, the grain is still there like the p4, more light the better...but having your environment looking actual size helps a lot and q3 delivers on that.
Oh and with q3 if your room dim it will look dimmer and kinda more grain but it's still see able unlike Pico 4 if it to dim you really can't see nothing but red grain fuzzing..
Quest 3 works better 👍
But also I heard quest 3 lite might have even better pass through and cheaper! But no idea when it coming out 🤷♂️
I said the q3 would be my last headset I bought, if it weren't for the pass through I would of just stuck to my quest 2, and if it weren't for Samsung killing the gearvr on my s10 I'd be fine with my gear vr, but if that q3 lite cheaper I might get it but only to see how the pass through works.
One day these pass through are going to look super clear, won't be able to tell if your looking threw a camera or not. 🤯
Oh, and q3 way better comfort in laying positions with out the battery behind your head.
I've always used the strap using the gearvr and quest 2 so using a Pico 4 with battery behind my head was new to me and I hated it but got use to it, but ultimately q3 better comfort in laying positions, if your a layer watcher.
If you get the q3 I don't think you'll regret it, at first you be kinda like ah this don't feel good but that because you're usually using the Pico 4, so your comfort level using the q3 will come in slowly, after a few fapping pass through sessions you'll enjoy it. 😉
