  • SLR Drive in the making: Upload, Stream in Deo, get AIScripts and Passthrough

Hello!

I already see an option saying SLR DRIVE on the left menu on DEOVR app. Is it working already? How can I use it? Thank you.

mixbets78 hi, you are probably using the Release candidate version?
You can check in Meta store. If this is the case, then you are just seing the unreleased version, it is not up and running yet

Kieshi Hello. Yes I'm using that version.

Thank you for your answer! Will wait then for this to go live!

AlexSLR Same, I don't see anything. I have that version already on Quest 3. I think also, when it's available, there will be a more featured, louder announcement from SLR?

doublevr We are aware of that. It's just we are excited and have expectations regarding the announced deadlines. I personally held off on creating a local python app with segmentation masks to create my own passthrough for all my downloaded videos because yous are already doing it.

      Thank you

doublevr We get that's it's not a small project but you guys really don't understand one of the basic engineering axioms: You never overpromise, you always undersell. So instead of telling us it will be ready early October, end of November, first week of December (all of which have come and passed) you give us a distant estimate, that way when you come through early we think you all were working really hard on it. But when we ask for an eta update and someone gives us off-the-wall info about something else being out, it sort of seems disingenuous. These nebulous dates don't do anyone any good.

RBDCLN typical dev stuff. it's one thing to prototype it, another to get through the whole production pipeline. and even if you are on time there is always some urgent fix coming in, hacking attacks, people getting sick, adjusting schedule because of other team changes, etc.

Internal folks have been playing with it for a week. regular routine. PM's are waiting for last preparations call to pull a switch. comes with AI scripts and PT

doublevr It's not typical dev stuff. I've been a Software Engineer for over 10 years, working in professional business organizations, including high-stakes environments like the Navy. From my experience, consistently delayed deadlines are often a sign of organizational or workflow issues. Itโ€™s not necessarily about the skill level of the developers, but rather a lack of structure or planning within the team.

For example, a well-executed agile workflow with properly planned weekly sprints can significantly improve production pipelines and minimize delays. My guess is that your team might be small and possibly overcommitted, which can easily lead to bottlenecks and setbacks. Prioritizing deliverables, managing workload realistically, and ensuring a solid planning process can make a big difference in keeping projects on track

silentcoder a sign of organizational or workflow issues.

we were never shy about it. not something to be proud of, but we are still figuring things out on the go. there's often a trade off between doing innovations and releasing things in time. also forum posts are more unofficial stuff. more like off record discussion. we never wanted to give a time line, you guys keep pushing "give us something", just before "here we go again"

let me know if you'd like to give it a try. careers@sexlikereal.com will be waiting for your email ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ

doublevr personally, Iโ€™m not on a clock and I love the insider look into future developments.
You guys rock, SLR is by far the best and most innovative VR + haptics company. Iโ€™m so excited for all the stuff to come, so take your time and kick ass. ๐Ÿ˜˜
I understand some people are demanding customers, but the only consequence of complaining about timelines is getting fewer updates with dates far into the future. Iโ€™d rather get frequent updates with tentative timelines.

              doublevr
I agree with jambavant. I'm not on a clock, just excited and anxious. Of course we appreciate the work and being the first innovators for passthrough masking.

And oh, I've filled out an application for a job, no response was given. My drive for technology and innovations like what this company is doing is what pushes me, and it's the definition of why i love coding and my job.
