Hello!

I have a Pimax 8k and my setup is very strong (2080ti and 3800x processor and 32 gb ram)...

I have Installed LAV filters from github and set it to nvidia cuvid and i use deovr with direct show ...

I tried all different download options (original (for pimax) and h264 and h265) and for most of the videos i get a vp9 error message or the video starts and jumps to the end after a couple of seconds...

what do i do now?

    Hello Sam,

there is no filepath like that...

    AppData doesnt even exist...

and i didnt have SLR App installed cause it didnt work there too

Just Installed the app again and same thing as in DeoVr...

any ideas where i can find the output log then?

The AppData folder is hidden by default. You must check "Hidden items" in the View tab of the File Explorer or type "C:\Users\username\AppData" in the File Path bar.

ok found it thanks... why would u hide that microsoft 😃
ive sent an email to the support... thanks

Not directly relevant, but I believe you will have issues with playback by toggling Directshow in this case. I've had the best playback by setting LAV Filters to DXVA (native) and always having Directshow off. Because I believe putting on Directshow will force your PC to go into software decoding for the video and that tends to be sluggish for videos over 4K.

Hardware wise, even as low as the GT 1030 can play h.265 and VP9 files up to 8K resolution so you shouldn't have major issues with most current videos with your setup. Most of the current video cards only decode h.264 files up to 2048p or 2160p I believe so I would suggest h.264/AVC files only up to 2048p and then h.265/HEVC (and VP9 if available) files at any resolution for best playback (especially for playing off a local drive, streaming from a site might be different).

Although your main issue at hand (video jumping) might be unrelated to filter settings. I'm not familiar with VP9 errors but just wanted to add a little bit to the LAV Filter/Directshow info brought up. Hope things work out.
