  • DeoVR buggy on Pico4

Hi @doublevr

Not sure if all of these issues have been reported (some have been) but DeoVR on Pico4 is very buggy on the latest version.

First issue is the view settings of VR180 and 3D SBS don't remain between viewing a video but they used to. So I can set these, watch a video, exit the video, then if I come back to that video later these settings are lost and have to be reset.

Second issue has partially been reported but the passthrough enabling buttons for first colour and then second colour etc aren't working as they used to a version or so ago. Currently if you toggle the first on and set the range etc, then toggle the second on and set the range etc, then you can't get back to change the first toggle's settings again ... I've tried disabling the second toggle but it either doesn't disable or if it does I then can't change the first toggle's settings. So its like the second toggle blocks access to the first toggle etc, even if it is disabled. Also when two toggles are on, and you exit the video, when you come back to the video later, the second toggle's settings are lost but the first toggle is on but then I still can't change the first toggle. So then the only option is to watch the video with only some of the settings applied last time and nothing else can be adjusted. All of these issues are very frustrating and this whole area needs revision and simplification.

Third issue has been mentioned that when enabling passthrough then 6DOF is on by default, this is a pain as have to disable it there and on the 6DOF tab, then have to go back to the passthrough settings again. Can it please just be off on both tabs by default?

Hopefully your devs can fix these issues soon?

I know that the 6DOF problem will be resolved in the next update. Will just be off by default which will be much better.

Settings per video stay for me (also on a Pico 4) but I do find that random things such as an update to DeoVR or other potential factors erase the settings data so yes I do encounter this problem too but not consistently.

The passthrough problems are understandable too. They overcomplicated it. Also if we had the ability to save presets and just apply them it would save us a lot of time as a lot of my own alpha passthrough videos all have the same color, saturation and brightness but I have to go into each one and edit it manually which is a pain.

et232man hi, thank you for the feedback, we appreciate it.
I will check with the team about those issues certainly and also as @infernohammer already mentioned, we will make 6DOF off by default in the net release.
Could you please confirm to me that you are using the latest version of DeoVR app, which is 13.14.1?

That is great news about the 6DOF being off soon.

Yes I lose PT settings for the same videos between updates most of the time too.

Agree that either a precanned preset or a custom preset would be a good option to have. I'd love it if the sliders were set at 50, 100, 100, 575, 999 when PT is enabled for a video as most of the time I'd then only need to change the Range a little.

Thanks for confirming that 6DOF will be off in the next update.

Yes I'm using the latest version of DeoVR (there are no pending updates that I haven't applied etc).

Note I had more of a play with the PT settings and enabling the first colour and the second colour and I was able to get back to adjusting the first colours settings after having had a second colour on previously. But the colours still don't work independently like they used to. So it would be good to get back to that if possible. Another issue and I think this has been mentioned on the forums recently is when you apply settings to one colour and then apply settings to another colour, one of the colours settings are displayed as being the same as the other colours settings even though they are not. This could be linked to the other issue I've mentioned here that one colours settings block the other colours settings, because which colour you've clicked on vs which colour is being displayed are being mixed I think, and so you think you can't adjust a first colour because its displaying the second colours settings, even if you've clicked on the first colour etc.

et232man got it, I passed it on to a team member to check, I will get back to you with some updates soon
