Error loading project data
wylind Where are you from?
Please run speed test
https://cdn-vr.sexlikereal.com/benchmark/speed.html
and share its result id here. Let 's check which server you are using.
Is it because of the traffic being re-directed to the Japan server as per the speedtest results?
Anyway to redirect to somewhere else? I used to be able to get the SLR working without a VPN just 2 months ago...
I shared the VPN connection on my laptop as a mobile hotspot and the SLR app was working ok once it connects to the mobile hotpsot on my laptop. However, the video loading time is atrocious - it takes like 2 to 3 mins to load 5 seconds of video and that is definitely not going to work. Tried different VPN locations but the result is always the same.
So out of desperation, I tried loading the SLR app while being connected to the VPN connection on my laptop's mobile hotspot. Once the SLR is up and running on my Oculus Go, I switched over to my regular wireless network (without any VPN). Lo and behold, it works! and I am able to navigate and load videos on the SLR app as per normal though I may not have tested all the SLR app's funcationalities.
It is kinda of cumbersome workaround but it would suffice for now...
The above-mentioned also works for DeoVR on Oculus Go and SLR app on Android Daydream. It seems to point to an issue during the initial SLR interface loading on the app and DeoVR. I have confirmed that there are no blocking or filters of any sorts on my router though I am not sure if my ISP has erected any form of adult website filtering recently. But quite unlikely as I am able to access the SexLikeReal website on my laptop browser and the Oculus Go Oculus browser while on my network without VPN.
I hope this issue can be resolved soon...

wylind The reason you get this result is as follows:
I don't know off the top of my head where you are located. So I'll use my locations.
I'm in Belgium, SLR, based on my location assigns me to a server in Frankfurt.
Between me and the server are iirc 12 'relays' Only one of them has to have an issue for the connection to be bad or fail.
If I were to connect via VPN, and I put my location in the USA, now i have, depending on where the VPN server is I connect to, 5 to X relays, VPN sends me through some other connections and pops me back out on a USA server. But My account is still assigned to Frankfurt, so now from the USA it has to go all the way back to that server.
Then, the server has to send the data back in the opposite direction to the USA, back to you.
If you want to look into this a bit further, you can find me on the official SLR Discord server with the same name (Rakly3) or you can mail me at tony@sexlikereal.com
I need a guinea-pig for something relating to this
Hi ! I just wanted to state that I suffered from the same error message today aswell. SLR App updated itself to the latest version when I started it and afterwards I got the same error message in VR. Blank screen (completely black) and the words: Error loading project data. -> Operation time out.
Nothing more happens.
Then I found this thread here and also tried changing my location. Changed it from Berlin/Germany to Switzerland and for whatever reason now everything seems to be fine again.
Rakly3 was right. I just don't understand why the acutal main menu screen of the SLR App would be affected, anyway.. if it was just the online videos itself that would not be loading - well okay - but with this error I also wouldn't have the possibility to view my downloaded fav videos.
..and I always want to be prepared for day x when the internet goes all out and I can still enjoy my VR porn
IΒ΄m having the same problem here with Quest 2 from germany right now. "Error loading project data - timeout".
Would be nice if someone could have a look. Thx!

Good day!
Could you please run the test https://www.sexlikereal.com/speedtest and tell us your number. Your computer must be on the same local network as Quest 2 (on the same router) if you are not running the test in the headset.
Thank!
I'm getting this error message as well using the DeoVR app on Oculus Go. Also based in Germany. I have been using it for months with very few issues and my internet speed hasn't changed (results are at the bottom).
Out of interest, I tried installing the SLR app on my Windows laptop and got the same error, however if I use a VPN the Windows SLR app loads fine. I don't think that helps me though with getting it to work on my Oculus headset.

(maybe this helps the devs )
I have this problem (at least the last three days) only in the evening - during the daytime it works fine
got the same error msg. any fixes yet?
Yep. Same for me. Germany in the evening. Same Error. Did a full reset of my Oculus Go. Tried DeoVR and the SLR app.
Same here from Germany. Maybe our evening is tomorrow on server side? Sounds like a time-zone issue. Some systems have a security check like that.
@everyone
Can people with this issue check which server they are on? You can find it on the speedtest page. https://www.sexlikereal.com/speedtest
If at some times you have the issue and other times don't, please add this to the information. Optional, your location (not address) and local time.
If you like you can also send which ISP you are with to support or DM on Discord to Rakly3 or Bruce. Simply refer to this thread/issue.
Thanks!

It was working for me yesterday in the late evening, and I tried it this morning and it was still working, maybe it's resolved?
I don't believe it is/was a timezone issue, as I was able to bypass the problem when I tested the SLR app on my laptop using a VPN located in Europe (Czechia, I think).

I just need to know the time. For some ppl it seems to switch on and off like clockwork every day, but still works with VPN outside Germany.
