crankypants Any updates?

Right, a 3500 + $ headset are yall feeling actual hotties cumming on you yet? Reaching out for titties that are actually there? Lol 😆

I'm just messing with yall, lol
But no update yet? VR 180 working? are your arms in front of the vr video images? If your laying and fapping how does that work, does it look like your reaching for male models cock?

Updates?

Hi guys, sorry for a late reply, we did not manage to make an update last week, but we are already testing some fixes and after QA gives a green light, we will release some updates this week.

This thing is an absolute MESS on the AVP. I don't know if anyone one the SLR team has access to an actual devices, or is just testing on other devices, but trying to use this on Vison Pro is just a complete non starter. Once you go into a video and switch to VR mode (which is tricky in itself) you are presented with rudimentary hand controls that are worse even that they are on a Quest which is quite an achievement actually. It is just impossible to reliable interact with anything using these things are they jitter all over the place and don't even seem to recognize the pinch to interact.
On top of that everything feels washed out - like an incorrect color space issues - and the resolution of both the video and UI is super low.

While I appreciate the attempt, to label this as something that is useable is really a reach.

Agathorn sorry to hear you had such an experience. We are working to improve this with every new iteration and it will become better with time.
As mentioned above, we should have an update released this week, which will make controls better and generally improve experience with VR Mode.

Made it work in 4K. Sent it out for testing.
Doing our best to get 8K

Kieshi While I certainly don't like being stuck in 1080p, right now reliable and user friendly interaction with the app is the single biggest problem.

I noticed on normal 2d websites, like say Spankbang, I can easily manipulate the video controls, even scrub, with the simple look and pinch as the rest of the platform. Is it not possible to do the same in WebXR?

I'm not sure if maybe I'm just missing something obvious, but I can't even seem to reliably SELECT anything in the UI. It isn't a matter of it being hard to point at an element (even though it very much is hard) but its the act of indicating I want to select that element. Pinching, which is the "click" everywhere else on AVP doesn't seem to do it. I seem to select every now and then completely at random and I have no idea what I did to select, but that's about it. So essentially I have a UI that I just can't interact with which makes everything else pointless.

Agathorn please check if it works better now for you, we have released an update for controls, you should be able to use tapping and head for controls

Sorry what does "tapping and head for controls" mean?

Agathorn tapping with your fingers to click and selecting with head movements on AVP. We have enabled those in today's update

It works better, this is def the better way to do it, BUT, I can only activate play by pinching sometimes. I think I have to press play on the video first, then go into immersive, then hit play again. I only got it to work a couple times. Also, I am sure you are aware, but the max resolution is still only 1920 and looks horrible.

Kieshi By tapping do you mean pinching like how the rest of the platform works? I'll give it another try.

Kieshi ok just tested this and it is a HUGE leap forward! This is MUCH easier to use and I can actually get some things working. I was able to start up a video, play/paise,. and seek.

              Couple issues though:
              1) It is good that the video automatically asks to go into immersive mode, because if you try to look and activate by the icon it is nearly impossible. I don't know if you can add a mouseover highlight on the video controls but that would be helpful.
              2) Changing resolutions seems to break everything. Either the video will just hang and never reload on the new resolution, or worse you somehow get multiple versions of the video playing at the same time!
              3) Only seeing 1920 as max resolution now, whereas last time I tested I thought I saw 4k?
              4) The control panel seems to sometimes just randomly pop up and hide on its own while I'm watching and I'm not sure why.

But really this is a huge improvement. Being able to look to controls with my head then pinch instantly jumped this up from unusable to useable.

I recorded a video of some of these issues and challenges if it would be helpful.

crankypants I think in general the network performance of the app is just very bad. Sometimes it will play, sometimes it won't.

                sad, very sad :feelsbadman:

crankypants yes, we are working to find a way to increate available resolution

                Agathorn thank you for feedback!
Yes, switch to resolution does sometimes break, we are looking for the issue to fix it as soon as we can.
The maximum supported res is currently 1920p, looking into improving this

I would appreciate a video, it helps immensely! Please send it over

As soon as I figure out how to get it off my vision pro I'll post it 😃

This doesn’t work for me at all in the AVP. I go to a video (I’m logged into my account), I select one to stream, I get the popups about going into immersed mode, it enters immersed mode, appears to stream but I cannot pinch/press play button at all. All other buttons on the control panel seem to accept my pinch to click hand gestures just fine. I can exit video, return to website, choose resolution, etc etc. But I cannot press play. Exiting video displays a WebGL error condition. Have tried this with dozens of different videos on the site, all behave the same way, and have been on three different wifi connections when doing so. So for me at least, I’m not able to experience anything that others are discussing. Weird given we all have the same hardware.

I got my AVP and I tried watching SLR.
                  First impressions:
Great potential to have the best image quality in the current market. Even though videos are only playing at max resolution of 1920, it's very crisp compared to 1920 on a Quest Pro, for example.
To get immersive mode to work, you need to press play on the video while out of the immersive mode. After the video plays, you can then go back into immersive mode, and you will be able to go forwards/backwards. Only thing is, you can't move the camera around, so things don't line up as you would like it to.
Can't wait to see an actual DeoVR app for AVP. Keep up the good work!
