Hairsational I always kinda hated Apple. I don't own an iphone for that reason. I mean that whole attitude "We decide what's best for you and thus won't give you this feature", can't stand it! But honestly, the AVP is far from a paperweight, even for PT fans. I also own a quest 3 and love it for PT, but lately for porn I'm almost exclusively using the AVP. The image quality, if you download a video, is just insane. AND it kinda does some form of PT, if you have the player dialog open in Moonplayer, it shows your hands AND your dick 🙂 So there's some basic form of PT. But yeah, I'm definitely hating apple for this 'we know best what's good for you' attitude.

    harigeharry At the time I wrote that I was working at Unity technologies on Vision Pro content and working closely with the team responsible for the Vision Pro tools, so yeah.

    That said I saw a Github project that was attempting to actually get a chromakey video working so I'm curious to see how that works. As I said originally you can't access the camera feed, but assuming you can render a video in the right mode that has transparency, then you should be able to just naturally see through to the real world without needing to superimpose the camera data.

      Seems like WebXR will become automatically enabled on Vision Pro from version 18.
      Sadly - no mentioning of AR...🙁

        Jjhooke69 No unfortunately not. It's about the software having access to the camera feed. Currently there is no such thing, in V2.0 there is but only for enterprises, internal use only. So it seems it might never come for us. Or maybe if we're lucky in a V3.0 update ... Or we could hope for a jailbreak hack and have the AVP rooted and decide for ourselves which features we want. But I guess that might take a long while too

            harigeharry dang. I did find a fairly rough way to do PT. If you stream the video in AVP, click the eye icon to make the background black and then turn your head and look up either direction and open the control center and it will bring the real world into your vision and you can watch a pretty mediocre pass through that way but it works ok haha

              mrdiscreet918 Just wanted to follow-up on this, I checkeed this video and it works fine on AVP; quality is maximum 2160, but this is same on all platforms, this is just the maximum this video has

                so passtrough finally works on avp using ALVR, im not that tech savvy but the only issue im having is that there is a green border around the girl. im sure someone more tech savvy can fix it

                  Blasaurus WTF??? passthrough works with ALVR? You mean the type of PT where you really see the whole room around the girl?

                    Yea I need to mess around with it more but it works perfect. It’s an ALVR feature, only issue is it probably needs a decent computer

                      Blasaurus Nah you're confused, it doesn't work, just tried it. They surely made it easy now to install ALVR that's awesome, since yesterday (?) you can just download the app from the store. Then have SteamVR on a PC with a good GPU, install the ALVR client on the PC and you can run ALVR in your headset.

                      But like expected, passthrough does not work, surroundings are black. Only your arms/hands passthrough but that was already the case before of course.

                        No it works, you have to mess around with it, I only got to mess around with it for a hour today but what I did was turn on alpha passthrough on Heresphere then selected green as the pass through color in ALVR. It was clear as day, I’m going to mess around with it more tonight. But when I got it to work everything around the model looked like crystal clear Apple Vision Pro pass through only issue I had was a slight green outline around the model. I’m going to try messing with it more I’m sure there’s a way to get rid of the outline

                        Edit: also I was using Heresphere on steam, make sure u turn on passthrough from the ALVR menu inside the vision pro

                        Tried it with heresphere too, did everything you said but just can't get it to work ... Enabled passthrough in Heresphere, tried both options (I think chroma key and alpha or whatever they called). Enabled of course passthrough in ALVR in the headset. But still won't work ...

                        Try these for the green on the sliders tab for the chroma key color on ALVR: red:121, green 251, blue 78, opacity 100

                        Also make sure 40 ppd render is on along with passthrough enabled.

                        I had to try a bunch of greens before it worked. I’m not home to try it now but if that green doesn’t work I have other ones but I’m pretty sure this one works. Also make sure alpha pass through is on in Heresphere so u have a green background on the video. I can’t get it to work with the regular grey backgrounds

                        WHAAAAT it works!!!! Hahaha, I honestly was about to post "you're pulling my leg", when I got it working!!! I put in all those settings you mentioned above in ALVR, in the headset. Then started Heresphere but it still wouldn't work. But the key is to select in 'user settings'

                        • background : passthrough
                        • Replace background with color: ON
                        • Green 1.0, others 0.0

                        And then with the video open in advanced video settings "Passthrough" and "alpha packed" and BOOM full passthrough working!!

                        Damn nice!!! Although the green tint around the model is a bit worse than I had hoped. But either way, it's WAAAAY better than not having PT at all 🙂 Awesome, thanks my friend!

                        EDIT actually even with the green tint, this easily beats the Quest3. This is frikking amazing.

                        @Kieshi please make sure that the team is aware that PT IS possible on the AVP!!! Not sure why they haven't been able to get it up and running with DeoVR, but obviously they should be able to get it working too with DeoVR.

                        BTW same thing for that frequency issue that they currently have with their web player. The native version of DeoVR via ALVR doesn't have this issue, it's very smooth. The only thing is that DeoVR seems a bit slower in processing than Heresphere, so you have to turn down the resolution a bit for it to work smoothly.

                        Tried it some more, not going to lie, that green edge around the model is distracting. But daaaamn this quality is good and this is being resampled by ALVR and it's already way beyond Q3 quality. If we could get it going natively it would even look better. Especially the older PT SLR original productions look stunning (I dont like the recent european ones too much, different production team and worse quality). But with the older videos, daaaamn this is simply amazing

                        Ok this has definitely become my favorite way of fapping, might as well sell the Quest3 now, I'm sure I won't be using that anymore. The green border around the model in the end wasn't as distracting, once in fap modes my brain doesn't even notice it anymore LOL. The biggest downside though is that with Heresphere there's no PT AI. The thing I love about PT AI is that you can see your dick slide into the model ,that really yields some extra dimension to it. But like said, for me there's already no going back, AVP + ALVR + heresphere in PT mode really beats everything else out there.
